Funeral Home of the Northern Hills was established in 1991 with one purpose in mind ~ to provide western South Dakota with the best service and care available in funeral service. And a business that is owned by people you can trust. WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT? 1. INTEGRITY. SERVICE, CARING HEARTS, AND COMMITTMENT TO EXCELLENCE.

When under our care, you will experience professional service and sensitive care-giving at their best. We are committed to caring for our families with compassion. We don't simply "provide funerals"; we serve people in difficult times and provide care, hope, and service that will make a difference.
Services
Funeral Home of the Northern Hills is a family owned business. Because of this, our "staff" is our family. And as a way of introducing our family to you, we have included a little information and picture of each one of us below. Our children are involved in our business in small ways and we're proud of each one of them, so it seems appropriate to introduce them to you here.
In January of 2007, we moved into our new building in Belle Fourche. We designed our building to help bring comfort to grieving families. Inside, the chapel can comfortably seat more that 150 people, and there is space available for luncheons, private visitation areas, and a family reception room. It is all tastefully furnished and brings warmth and peace during a time of grief and sorrow.
Most of us plan ahead in life. We plan for our wedding, our children's education, family vacations, and other significant expected life events. We also plan for the unexpected events of life by purchasing home, auto and medical insurance. Understanding the benefits of pre-planning has prompted many to take the step to plan their own arrangements.
Many who have undergone the emotional strain of arranging a funeral within hours of losing a loved one have made the choice to pre-plan their own funeral. Doing so lifts the burden from their loved ones by relieving decision-making pressure at a time of grief and emotional stress. Funeral arrangements are a deeply personal choice.
Someone you love has died. You are now faced with the difficult, but important, need to mourn. Mourning is the open expression of your thoughts and feelings regarding the death and the person who died. It is an essential part of healing. The following articles provide many practical suggestions to help you move toward healing in your unique grief journey.

Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills has been absolutely phenomenal. Mark has been extremely professional and has eased a lot of the burden that is associated with the loss of a loved one. Our family’s first experienced this wonderful, caring person and business was with the passing of my Mother Peggy Kidd in 2007. From the first moment that we sat down with Mark Leverington, he made it so very easy on our family at our worst possible time. Nothing has changed with the passing of my Father Lauren Kidd. Thank you to Leverington Funeral Home and Mark Leverington for their continued professionalism
