Services
PTs are the primary providers for any orthopedic pain or injury. We treat any body part and any problems with joints, muscles, or nerves that affect function of those in any age group from kids to older adults.

PT has shown to be an effective treatment for problems affecting human strength, endurance, power, mobility, balance, posture, motor control, neurological integrity, aerobic endurance, proprioception, and conditions involving pain and/or inflammation.
YES- You should be scheduling a yearly check up with your PT! If you have your own Primary Care Physician (PCP), you should also have your own Physical Therapist (PT). While a PCP is a general practitioner who assesses and diagnoses health problems related to a variety of body systems, PTs are the primary care providers for orthopedic pain & injury.
Before surgery - To address joint motion loss, weak muscles, poor movement patterns, and pain which typically worsen leading up to the surgery. After surgery - To rehab properly and have quicker return of function to meet your activity goals. Think surgery is your only option? Many conditions, if they are addressed early enough, never decline to the point that surgical intervention is necessary.
If you're not sure if you need PT, call or schedule a free 15 minute consultation to find out! Physical Therapists hold a doctorate-level degree in their field and are the musculoskeletal experts in health care. Part of their expertise includes screening and recognizing when there are red flags in symptom presentation that warrant a referral to another healthcare professional.

If you need PT say YES! YES! YES! to Pittsburgh Performance Physical Therapy! 4 months and 4 doctors and I was getting no where with my foot injury. It was affecting every part of my life not being able to walk without a limp, not to mention, without pain. I met with Elisabeth at Pittsburgh Performance Physical Therapy - she listened to my issues, advised then made a game plan for my recovery. I now walk without a limp, can climb up and go down steps one step at a time and my feet match!! LOL I know that sounds silly but my bad foot was always sore, swollen and you could see even in shoes how swollen

I'm thankful for Dr Wheeler and the outstanding care given to help restore my shoulder from injuries sustained playing sports. Several years ago I injured my shoulder and thought it would eventually heal, but the strength and range of motion never got better. After meeting and talking with Dr Wheeler I decided it was finally time to take action and after a couple months of treatment and dedication, I felt like myself again. Several months later and my shoulder still feels great. Thank you Dr Wheeler for your charismatic professionalism and services!

I highly recommend Dr. Wheeler.
I began treatment with Dr. Wheeler in mid 2021 for chronic knee pain that started in 2019. I saw five doctors and three physical therapists who were unable to help resolve my problem. I had no diagnosable tear, but I was in enough pain that I gave up playing sports, lifting weights, and running. I avoided any unnecessary walking and I lost confidence in my knee.
Dr. Wheeler had me identify goals for therapy. She did an evaluation to determine what I needed to work on and she developed a plan. I saw steady improvement with each session. When I told her something

I have worked with Dr Elisabeth Wheeler over the years. She is excellent at assessment of any trouble spots and how to use massage and exercise to resolve problems. She is very knowledgeable and focused. Her new fellow therapist Eric is also excellent.

Last August 2020, I injured my shoulder and thought for sure I would need rotator cuff surgery. My doctor performed a procedure which helped heal the tears and I went to see Dr. Elizabeth Wheeler for physical therapy ---3x per week for 3 months physical therapy!! In previous years, I saw 4 different therapists, but after being treated by Dr. Wheeler, I knew she was the best. She has her own solo practice and her detailed attention to your problem is stellar. She's an amazing therapist and understands the workings of bones and muscles better than most. Her treatments truly worked for me. Her exercises

This is a fantastic physical therapy facility. I had the opportunity to work with both Elisabeth and Eric during my rehab. They were both very knowledgeable and creative with the treatment sessions that they designed for me. I had been stuck in difficult place with my concussion recovery for several months before coming to see them. They helped to get me through that and I am now feeling 100% again. I'm very grateful for their help and would recommend them to anyone!

I worked with both therapists during my time with Pittsburgh Performance Physical Therapy, and they were both wonderful! After ORIF following a car accident, they worked with me to get back to full functionality. I can jog, wear heels, and live life just like I did before the accident. They're skilled, knowledgeable, and professional.

Dr. Wheeler is thoughtful , effective, and cares about each person she sees in her clinic. I’ve had the great fortune to be under her care for a debilitating neck issue and have returned to almost complete recovery without any of the surgeries my doctors wanted to perform.
Her clinic is clean, and I feel she respects the knowledge I have of my own body and supplements that with her training and experience. She’s been generous with her time and energy.
She also cares for folks of all different races, education levels, and social backgrounds so I never feel dismissed or less than. Parking is
