Mad City Movers was the worst moving experience I have ever had. For some perspective, I was a military kid and a veteran and moved around many times in my childhood and in my adult life. I've worked with several good companies in my adult life, but wanted to work with a local company as a small way to support the economy. These are the ways MCM made our move more stressful than regular. They didn't put floor covering down on the major walkways- only at the entrance to the house. They forgot the handles to our refrigerator at the first house and forgot to install them at the second house

Our 20 year old daughter was home when the movers arrived to our condo. Pictures that should have been removed from the stairwell were not, and that is certainly on us. Had the movers been professional they would have requested the pictures be taken down, and most certainly should have been forthcoming about knocking one to the ground and breaking the frame.
*edit…I received an email with an offer to pay $25 towards the cost of fixing the frame. The movers should have at least advised our daughter to take the pictures down, and or acknowledge the damage. To exit the building they would have

Mad City Moving was absolutely amazing with our move. This was our first time using a moving company and we will definitely be using and recommending them for future moves. Our movers were so kind and caring, they even let my 5 year old help with little things so he could feel like he was big and strong. It only took 5 hours for us to get loaded at our old place to unloaded at our new home. Thank you for making our moving day smooth and easy.

I hate giving local businesses bad reviews. I reached out via email to one of the owners, Brenda about my experience (not to ask for compensation,) but just to share my poor experience with the company. It has been a week and I haven't heard a peep back from her, so I feel like I need to inform potential customers.

Everyone at Mad City Moving were great to work with. The booking process went smoothly, the administrative staff was responsive to questions and confirmed our crew over a week in advance, and the crew who loaded our UHaul truck were friendly, efficient, saved us time and our backs, and pushed through the move on a very humid day! I highly recommend Mad City Moving for all of your moving needs!

Let me start by saying this is the third time we’ve use Mad City so that should tell you something. The first time was 20 years ago so that says even more. These guys are fast, thorough, careful, polite and always on time. Their prices are fair and they give a discount for repeat business. Face it, moving is a pain in the a$$ but Mad City makes it tolerable. They put everything where we wanted including about 25 boxes making sure all labels face out. Heavy tool boxes, no problem. Try them and you won’t be sorry.

Mad City Moving did a fantastic job! My husband and I moved from Madison to Chicago, and we decided to try the full service rather than getting a Uhaul and hiring movers. We're so happy we did. Brenda was responsive and flexible with setting everything up, which was great since our closing date was originally up in the air. Used Madison Movers for our move from Madison to McFarland. Had them pack up our old house 1st . Loaded up 2 trucks on Saturday so we could completely clean the old house. Closed on the new house on Monday they had the 2 trucks emptied in about 3 hours. Rates were comparable to their competitors. Probably won't need a mover for a while but would definitely use them again

I have used Mad City in the past and not had a problem but recently I was not impressed with a job they did for me. I had them clear out a storage unit and pack it into a Uhaul for me. The guys were nice enough but they packed it poorly. I knew it wasn't done right but thought well maybe it will be fine. Unpacked the Uhaul to find several broken items that can't be replaced. I'm mad at myself for not making them redo it. I sent an email to the company stating what happened and taking responsibility but stating I wouldn't use them again because they are supposed to be experts

Worst customer service...ever. I just completed a portion of my move with Mad City moving. The movers themselves were nice enough, though they weren't exactly professionals. The way they stacked things in my storage unit was awful and completely without forethought. That was forgivable, because they were as courteous as they could be. The customer service from Brenda the owner was awful conversely. It was clear to me after my move that they were willing to upcharge me for work they weren't doing, but weren't actually interested in doing the work I was paying them for.

I hired Mad City moving to move me. The two individuals that moved me were very prompt with arriving and they treated my items better than I expected. I had a very large all glass curio cabinet and they took such great care in moving it as well as putting all the glass shelves back in. They were friendly and worked very efficiently. I will absolutely hire Mad City again.
