It was a very humble beginning to say the least. Ownership tried desperately to convince a local bank that it would be a wise investment to loan starting money for this unborn establishment. The bank president did not share the same enthusiasm - denying several loan applications. One sunny spring day however, a friend and director at the bank came by with good news.
If your business is located within our distribution area, a sales representative is available to call on you in person at your establishment. If you do not want to meet a representative in person, you may send us your copy for ads to be inserted. You may email or send your copy via the U.S. Postal Service, which will work fine in most cases.
Boldface personal classifieds are still available at $4.75 per ad. Please call office with payment, mail payment with personal classified or drop payment at our office. These services or products cannot be placed in a personal classified ad and must be placed into a display ad. To do so, please call or stop by our office.
Our experienced staff will do partial or complete type composition for your printed project. We use IMac computers. Outputting of type is done very fast and efficient. When making a decision whether to let us do your typesetting or giving it camera ready, please remember our staff is highly skilled and very efficient.
The Shopper is distributed in the Middle Susquehanna Valley and Upper Juniata Valley regions of North Central Pennsylvania. The area we serve includes all or part of five Central Pennsylvania counties: Snyder, Union, Juniata, Northumberland and Mifflin. The largest city we serve is Sunbury (Northumberland, population 11,500) at the extreme end of our coverage area.
