Me and my husband finally tried bluebonnet city grill for breakfast and it was honestly the worst meal in town we have ever had. My pancakes were burnt his biscuit was so hard he was scared he was going to break a tooth and the bacon in my monster bowl was not even cooked all the way. We paid 30 to leave still hungry after waiting an hour for our food. Very disappointed and don't plan on going back. All the posts on Facebook are what got us to go in maybe they were having an off day idk but we don't want to waste our money again and have this happen again completely disgusted and disappointed

The first time we went there it was really good and fresh, but since then every time we go there or order from Door Dash the food always tastes days old and not fresh at all. The quality is really going downhill fast. We were so excited for a good local cafe especially during the quarantine. Every time I am disappointed I try to call the cafe and no one answers the phone. This morning we tried breakfast for the last time and it was just horrible! We will not be going back wasting money.
Tried them for a second time, and the potato was definitely old. Tasted reheated and the inside texture was

Pleasantly surprised. I was expecting a typical small town diner, but got much more. Great prices, great food, and great service. Definitely plan to return to try the cheesecakes and pies in the front entrance cabinet.

I gave them a lot more than they gave me - it was okay at best. I had the onion rings (8 2" rings for $8) and a house salad ($3, very fresh). My wife had their classic club ($11) with cole slaw and liked it. Not much of a menu if you like your arteries.
The owners weren't around and it was the waiter's first day - If the owners think they are going to do something besides run their restaurant (like go home for more than 6 hours or wake up after 4 am), they are doomed to fail. A place like this is too small for employees - the budget will be balanced by the customer. I tipped well out of sympathy

We stopped here as we were traveling through the area. The food was excellent as well as the service!! I would recommend it anyone traveling through ennis. It is only 2 to 3 miles from freeway and worth the extra drive!

Always polite service and always fresh food just as if it was made one plate at the time. Have tried most everything on the menu and haven't found an item I dislike. The dessert case as you walk in is hard to pass up.

We have been looking for this place downtown, but we had the incorrect name of Ennis City Grill. Glad we finally found it. It did not disappoint. Food was tasty; it was evident that it was NOT pre-made, packaged fare. Prices were reasonable & the wait staff were welcoming & friendly. We will visit again very soon.

Great breakfast—the sausage gravy and biscuits are FANTASTIC. The coffee isn’t so great, but the service was very good and we will definitely be back the next time we come through town.

Y'all go eat at the Bluebonnet City Grill...cause I don't want to see another small, locally owned, Ennis restaurant go under. It's down in the Plaza Del Sol shopping center. So I'm getting the word out there...its good food! Look at that Alaskan Salmon! Great crispy seasoning and cooked perfectly medium well. The redskin mashed potatoes were the creamiest, and they thankfully didn't just slop.steamed broccoli on my plate like other restaurants do, they seasoned it well. They baked potato soup was pretty good too, but not my favorite.
Atmosphere wise, they could have used some light music, and
