The business was started during the Great Depression by Henry E. H. Lichte on a farm in Loganville, Wisconsin. In 1941, Henry and his wife, Mildred, moved the business to their home at 149 W Main St, Reedsburg.
The office remained there for 79 years until moving to its current location at 2175 E Main Street, Reedsburg, Wisconsin in September of 2020. Donald H. Lichte Sr. joined the business in 1959 after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Donald A Lichte Jr joined the business in 1984 after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
