Kato Jiu Jitsu
Jiu Jitsu is a ground based martial art that originated in Japan and was refined in Brazil. Jiu Jitsu utilizes techniques that allow a physically inferior person to defend themselves by taking the fight to the ground and using submissions to subdue an opponent. Jiu Jitsu is not only a self defense technique but also a sport, as well as an excellent fitness activity.

If sport competition is your motivation the techniques learned can also be applied in that setting. My 8-year-old daughter starting training Jiu Jitsu at Kato Jiu Jitsu in May of 2018. She quickly took a liking to it and always looks forward for her next chance to train. She is involved in many other activities to include Basketball, Softball and Dance, but Jiu Jitsu is by far the activity she looks forward to the most.
Services
We have worked to create a Judo program that improves your overall grappling performance and does not follow an arbitrary set of rules (no grabbing the legs, etc.) Our competitors love how the judo program can work into their overall grappling game and give them a distinct advantage when facing those trained only in BJJ.

A place where people are trained to fight violently. The weak become dangerous under their tutelage.

We started out having our kids join Kato Jiu-Jitsu for learning self defense because our kids have been bullied in the past. Jiu-Jitsu is a real world type of defense. Now our whole family is taking the classes. An hour long class is a much better workout than any gym membership! Plus you're learning skills to keep you safe. Everyone has become like a second family there. It's a really great environment and welcoming to new members with zero judgment. For kids it's teaches respect, discipline, and builds confidence. They have a 4 time World Champion as an instructor! How cool is that?!?! They have

Kato Jiu Jitsu has been a great experience for my family. My 12 year old son and 9 year old daughter have been members since October 2018. My daughter has always have a confidence in herself but my son has always been a bit shy and reserved. Since joining Kato Jiu Jitsu I have seen a boost of confidence in him. I see it in everyday things like the… way he walks. I see it in the way he hesitates less when asked questions from others. I see it in the way he engages with the other adults and children at Kato Jiu Jitsu. He truly found a place and people he has developed a kinship with and I

This is a great place to learn about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. There are no attitudes and people come to learn and work hard while also being respectful of each other.

Came down to Kato from the cities for a seminar with Fabio Morscalchi. Everyone from Kato was extremely nice and respectful. The gym seems to have a great cooperative culture about it. Definitely looking forward to making it down again.
