This question surprises most of our clients at first because there's a natural presumption that signs last for a very long time. Outdoor signage is a completely different story though, mainly because of the damaging effects of the sun. How long will your signs last outside before they look old and faded?

Sunlight causes colors to fade because pigments break down under intense solar heat and UV light exposure. As colors fade, a chalky white residue often forms on the surface of the sign, due to oxidation. Without a clear, UV protective sealant, the unprotected surfaces on outdoor signs are subjected to the full force of the sun and the elements, which accelerates deterioration.

Crystal Thompson, The National Account Manager should not be allowed to interact with customers. She ignores emails, is rude on the phone and always acts like she's having a bad day. I mean who answers a customer's call with "can I help you?". Can I help you is what you say to someone you do not want on your property. She is the sole reason I'm taking my business elsewhere.

One of the worst companies I had to deal with. Constant delays and rude staff with deceptive tactics., We still kept on working with them as we were too far in our project to find a new company.
Tim, who is the CEO of the company lied to my partner and myself promising that the signs will ship ten days ago.
We finally received the "Signs" and they're unusable as he just sent the letters with nothing to mount them on. He claimed that this is what we ordered and if we want something else we need to pay for it. Typical "Bait and Switch" tactic.

Created a custom 48"x36" wayfinding sign for a park. The design team had a quick turnaround of few hours for any changes. The sales team has automated processes for a smooth transaction.
Received the large sign by FedEx in 7 days.
Price was the best we could find.

Anyone with a job in sales should understand that laughing in response to a customer's question is unbelievably rude and juvenile. Crystal Thompson, I don't know how on earth you became a national account manager, but it speaks volumes of the business that employs you. After reading your reviews, I am thrilled that your complete lack of respect during our phone call resulted in your loss of our business. Ridiculous company.

After looking around for a place to do a very special gift for my brother's 60th birthday I happen to call the SignChef and came in and talk to the Owner first off to see if they could do what I wanted done. He showed me the room where the signs are made and gave me suggestions. I went home and talked to my husband about his thoughts. I came back a couple of days later and I spoke with Crystal and she took her time as we worked out the kinks and the colors. She was very patience with me. I would highly recommend this sign shop.

Have to agree with all of the negative reviews here, our experience was sub par as was the product. They sent a version of the sign that was not approved. Although they claim they will provide a sign that is 100% installation ready, we had to hire a local sign person to install it, it was such a mess. He found they had not provided the correct number of spacers and the threaded rods they provided were obviously just screws they had hacked off to inconsistent sizes. They wouldn't return his phone calls and when I wrote to complain to the sales rep, she said she would forward to the CEO...

Sadly it has come to this.... 2 weeks ago I thought I'd try "The sign chef" out. I spoke with a crystal who seemed nice. She gave me a quote and I gladly paid. 2 days later I'm informed that The sign chef cannot do my signs and was told that I'd get my refund and a confirmation email of my refund. It has now been 2 weeks. Everytime I call I get the run around. Now I've been in the business world for over 10+ years. THIS IS POOR BUSINESS MANAGEMENT!!!!!!! I simply want my money back!!!!! I was inspired to come to yelp today, just to find this company, so I could remark on its professionalism and generosity.

I gotta say I'm quite surprised to see negative reviews. But noticing that all except one are pretty dang old... in this instance Yelp is not offering very relevant feedback. Not to mention that the only recent one is dated 3/20, which as we all know is right smack when the COVID-19 shut-down happened! (and when literally just about everyone's personal as well as work lives turned sideways...)

I will NEVER use this company again! I would give them a NEGATIVE 100 Stars if I could!! My order was printed wrong, they blamed it on me. Okay, maybe it was my screwup so I will take blame for that one. BUT there is a cut, a razor cut, down the middle of the lettering when I open it up. I tell them and their CEO Tim Harrelson tells me he has pictures that there was no cut when they shipped it out but he's a "reasonable guy"! So apparently I'm a liar, he calls me a liar but I'm suppose to work with him?! Nope, not interested in EVER working with this joke of a company

I am a professional designer and have worked with dozens of online signage and print companies in the past. I would steer clear of this outfit. I submitted a small and very straightforward signage project 2 weeks ago. They said production time for my type of material would be 2 days. I never received any kind of proof, which I thought was odd. Then a full week later I received a call asking me what kind of finish I wanted (which I had already specified in the job order) I told them and then thought we were good to go.

Another week goes by and I realized I still haven't received a proof

Placed my order, website doesn't take it.

Call to see what is happening, website error, IT guy out of town. My credit card is charged twice, They refund the one charge ask me to send an email, assure me all will be good.

Over a month to receive my sign. No frame arrives. Call and am told never ordered a frame - insist I did, just look at the order. Oh yeah, I did, will get a frame to me. Several weeks later frame shows up.

Now I am at over two months since my initial order and this frame does not work with my sign. I call in to ask how to put the sign in the frame. They tell me they

If your sign deteriorates, despite the assertions of it being weather proof and has a premium upgrade, Thesignchef will offer you a metal sign; aka, a bait-and-switch. The bait-and-switch tactic of offering to sell "a top recommendation" (along with the sign that they just shipped).

It doesn't look like I'm alone with my poor review...

In the beginning, I was happy with the promptness of my quote and urgency to get the job done. The first account manager I worked with (Crystal) was very helpful and assured me I'd get my plaque in time but when issues arose no one was able to help or offer reasonable solutions. In trying to find a resolution, I was shuffled between a couple employees and then ultimately to the CEO who completely ignored my emails until I mentioned writing a review on Yelp....go figure. He said he hopes I don't "embarrass myself"

The whole process was easy, and the results are great. They produced a large 4'x6' sign, and vinyl door decals. After the approval of the drafts the signs arrived real quick. We are real happy and would recommend them to family and friends.

My review is the exact opposite of the previous review from Annette D. This company really understands customer service and was very accommodating every step of the way. They are very creative in their designs, recommendations and solutions. My sign will be delivered in a few days...I will post again once I can see the finished product!

Well, I have a really good customer service experience concerning a sign I received that was damaged during shipping. Expecting a problem in having it replaced I was pleased that this wasn't the case. Nothing but accommodation in this matter with a new sign being shipped within a few days. Justin was great in taking care of me and listened to my concerns in how the sign was shipped and remedied the problem from happening again by shipping my sign in a wooden box that should be able to withstand even the grumpiest of Fed-Ex or UPS drivers!

Once again, more issues with this company. Their customer service is possibly the worst I have ever com across for any company. I would highly recommend going elsewhere.

They 'forgot' to tell me that my order shipped and 'forgot' to update the tracking number on my order of over 120 signs. I only found out that they were shipped because someone from a completely different company said that our signs were mistakenly delivered to them.

I contacted the representative Melissa Morris, who said she forgot to update me and my order even though I specifically asked her to do this
