We encourage all of our employees to appreciate and embody these values when taking the field. Vincent Charles Blackwell was born in Chalfonte, England. He moved to Wilmington, Delaware along with Hans Seaburg and opened a general painting company in 1908 on Orange Street, known as Seaburg & Blackwell.
In 1932, Hugh Vincent Blackwell, son of Vincent Charles Blackwell, joined the firm. During the depression 1929-1939, Blackwell & Son Inc. was awarded the contracts to paint the new duPont titanium plant in Edgemoor, Delaware. Subsequently the Seaford nylon plant. They were also awarded the contracts to paint the Alfred I duPont mansion and the Longwood Gardens estate.
