Radon is a carcinogenic gas that is hazardous to inhale. Build-up of radon in homes is a health concern and many lung cancer cases are attributed to radon exposure each year. About 12% of lung cancers and more than 20,000 Americans die of radon-related lung cancer each year. The Surgeon General of the United States has issued a Health Advisory warning Americans about the health risk from exposure to radon in indoor air.

Jim was fantastic to work with. He was on-time for the appointment and communicated to me very well during the whole process. He got my report to me quickly and it was very thorough. I must have called the poor man 30 times due to scheduling and other concerns based on the home I'm purchasing and he was so patient. He is very knowledgeable and educated with his work and didn't miss a thing. Jim absolutely went above and beyond for me and would definitely recommend him for your home inspection needs.

Jim Breer was hired for a new purchase required inspection two weeks prior to inspection date. Start time 9am.
Painter arrived early at 8:45 to do a quick walk through and quote as Jim expressed not wanting anyone else present during his inspection due to covid.
Per the painter: Inspector arrived early. Painter greeted him outside. Jim expressed frustration that no one else was supposed to be present. Painter said he’d be done by 9am. Jim called the painter ignorant.
Jim then left before the inspection start time and did not answer the buyers phone call on whether or not returning.

We hired Jim to inspect our home in Williamstown before we bought it. He found somethings we had to go back the seller about and pointed out a number of other concerns that we factored in when making the decision to purchase our home or not. They were very helpful. Jim also was very thorough. He crawled under the house, climbed in the Attic, checked the roof. He spent several hours at the place while we were there. He even arrived before our scheduled time to get digging. When it was all done he got us a detailed report very promptly, the next day if I remember. It was online and very helpful.

We worked with Jim Breer and Better Home Inspections when purchasing our first home last year. Jim was kind and professional and easy to work with. Jim is knowledgeable about taking care of properties and pays close attention to detail. He provided us with a thorough inspection report with many photos which we were able to use to support our negotiations with the sellers. One of the bonuses to working with Jim is the occasional home care newsletter we'll receive as an email that provides us tips on keeping our home in great shape. I would highly recommend Jim Breer and Better Home Inspections.
