Mitchell Renovations was founded in 1989 and has been providing excellent services and quality workmanship to our customers ever since. The owner, John Mitchell, was an IKEA carpenter in 1990. He has more experience with IKEA's kitchen product than just about anyone. He personally supervises and inspects every project to ensure work performed meets all applicable building codes and is at the highest quality possible.

We have been in business for over 20 years. It's experience you can trust. We have more years of experience with IKEA kitchen installations than anyone else in North America dating back to 1991. We have worked through three earlier IKEA kitchen cabinet changes since 1991. Whether you are working with Ikea's previous kitchen lines (System 210, Faktum, and/or Akurum) or their new line Sektion, it does not matter to us.
We are fully insured and licensed general contractors who can install your IKEA (or other brand) kitchen cabinets for you. We work with our customers throughout the planning and design phases in every project to ensure complete satisfaction. When you buy an IKEA kitchen, we install your cabinets and can also do all of the other work involved.

Mitchell Renovations did an absolutely masterful job renovating the kitchen and powder room of our 140-year-old historic Philadelphia rowhouse. We sought them out initially because there is literally no other contractor with more experience and expertise installing IKEA cabinets than John Mitchell. Not only did they install the IKEA components perfectly, they handled every aspect of the renovation flawlessly. The carpentry, insulation, electrical, plumbing--all done expertly, passing every inspection with flying colors. John always took the time to answer every one of our questions thoroughly.

John Mitchell provided us with measuring and design services for two kitchen layouts. He then completely renovated our 9’ by 15’ kitchen in our hundred-year-old Philadelphia row home. The previous kitchen was carefully demolished and cleanly removed. New floor underlayment was laid and a short wall was built out to square off the room around a load-bearing chimney. The sink was relocated to another wall and all new electrical, lights and plumbing for a dishwasher was added. We love our new kitchen!! John was extremely helpful throughout the entire process of renovating our kitchen with IKEA cabinets. John was very professional and detailed beginning with the estimate, which made us more comfortable during the stressful process. John provided suggestions as the job went on and the kitchen turned out even better than we expected. We had a very positive experience with Mitchell Renovations. We had a complete kitchen renovation and are very happy with John's work. He was thorough, professional and kept the work zone clean and organized. We have a young child and John was very considerate of her; often he was able to adjust what he was working on as to not interrupt our schedule as much. It's clear he has a lot of experience and I appreciated his judgment. The quality of the work has been excellent and John has followed up multiple times to ensure we weren't having any issues. We were so lucky to find John Mitchell. We renovated a kitchen long distance and things couldn’t have gone smoother. John’s wife, Sarah, is a designer and we began with her exploring possible layouts.
