Choosing wood is easy. Oak has more heat content than maple, but the main consideration is dryness. It takes about 12 months to fully season firewood - that is, for it to air-dry enough to allow it to burn efficiently. Green wood-that which isn't yet sufficiently dry-burns poorly. It gives off more smoke and less heat, plugs up your chimney and ultimately wastes your money.

We will continue to use and recommend Rock Creek Tree, Turf & Landscape again and again! Our trees were surveyed before the project started, and we were given very detailed descriptions of the jobs that were to be done as well as the cost. The team then came out and worked so quickly and efficiently, and our trees look beautiful. We were extremely pleased with not only the end result but the entire process from start to finish.

This outfit rocks! Seriously we’ve used Rock Creek for many years as has our next door neighbor and when it comes to mowing the grass, edging and trimming, leaf removal in the fall and keeping our many trees in good shape for the 10+ acres of our adjoining yards, John Miller and his guys at Rock Creek have always been great!

I have always been impressed by the professionalism of this company. I have used them for multiple tree related projects throughout the years and have always been pleased with the work.

Highly recommend! Excellent communication and professionalism from start to finish. They took the time to come out for a full review of my property and spent well over an hour with us during the initial consultation. I really appreciated how clearly they were able to explain/show me the source of our drainage issues, before then offering up multiple options on how address the issue. A comprehensive and creative proposal was then sent to me the next day. Had tree removal for a huge tree that fell from the high winds in Feb, 2018. Came out the same day I called to give an estimate and started the removal the next day! Chris, project manager, was great - patient, responsive! The workers were efficient and careful. The price was fair! Great experience!!

John provides me accurate proposals, works within my budget and recommends the most critical items that need to be done first.
