I'm Tonya and I am the face behind Par La Mer Photography. I absolutely LOVE what I do and I always seem to get the best couples to work with! I have been married to my best friend for 8 years and we have 3 wild boys and 2 less wild pups. I love all things coffee, and fall, because layers (am I right?!) I binge listen to true crime podcasts, (any muderino's?), and my guilty pleasure is watching Rom-Coms while editing.
Wedding Photography is an investment in tangible memories. After months of planning, photographs are the physical items you have left to share now and 25 years from now. We knew that we were going to be sharing intimate moments of our day with our photographer as we spent the majority of the day with them so it was important to us that we felt comfortable with them.

Everything about Tonya is fantastic. Not only is she amazing at her craft but she is so friendly and makes you feel so comfortable on the other side of the lens. You almost don’t even realize that she’s there and capturing some of the biggest moments of your life. I loved working with her and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone that is looking for a photographer. Her photos are absolutely stunning. And her personality matches. Just all-around a great human being. I feel so lucky that I found her to be the photographer for my wedding, I couldn’t picture using anyone else!

Picking a good photographer is always crucial as the memories last forever. Working with Tonya was the best decision we could ever take! Being the people who are not comfortable posing in front of a camera, me and my fiancé were really anxious before our shoot. But the moment we met Tonya, she just made us feel at ease. I cannot say enough good things about Tonya! I recently contacted Tonya to inquire about a boudoir shoot, which I wanted to gift to my fiancé on our wedding day. Note that my wedding date was within 2 months of my inquiry, so I was asking for not only a quick turn around time on photos but also the ability to fit me into a schedule that was already very booked. Tonya at Par La Mer Photography has been an absolute gem to work with! For personal reasons, we had to postpone our wedding and then due to COVID-19 we cancelled our wedding. We had our engagement photos taken by Tonya and a week later we received our gallery. The photos she took are stunning. Tonya worked closely with us from day 1. She helped us to select the most appropriate and beautiful location for our early spring session. We are new to CT so did not have any places in mind, so Tonya offered a list of 8 (!!!) different locations. We also wanted to include dogs in some photos, so she worked with our two rebellious pups to capture the most beautiful family shots. My husband and I had our dream wedding in April 2019, however our photos did not reflect that. We liked the photos but didn’t love it. This crazy talented person and her cohort worked our wedding like magic. She worked carefully and considerately from start to finish. Very affordable, and yet so many years of experience... combined with a terrific eye for capturing all of the BEST moments of the day! We were so comfortable around her and she really appeared to be having more fun than I think everyone there.
