I've had several appointments with Dr. Doering, specifically for a torn retinal. His exam was very thorough along with a detailed explanation as to what needed to be done to repair the tear. Took the time to answer all of my questions. Great 'bedside' manner. Results to date after the repair have been excellent.

Dr sloan pushed me into getting a stent because of high pressure due to very thick corneas. Never told me of any complications that I am experiencing almost a year after. Fortunately I am getting help by 2 opthalmologists at MUSC. Get a second opinion if you are thinking of surgery with Dr Sloan. My husbsnd saw Dr Doering. Hours wsiting for a 3 minute exsm. Told my husband one diagnosis and ine month later after another 3 minute exsm informed him he had cstaracts and glsucoma. Made an appointment the next dsy to see doctor at MUSC too.

Dr. Doering has been taking care of my eyes for 10 years and kept me being able to see. He is very gentle with a positive attitude and an exceptional ability to diagnose problems. As long as he is available, I will never go to another eye specialist ‼️His staff is friendly and very competent. They make patients as comfortable as possible.

Perfect!
Brilliant young Doctor! Dr Doering saw me immediately. He wasted NO
time with my exam, diagnosis and treatment plan.
He is efficient, reassuring and knowledgeable and worked on his
OWN TIME all weekend to restore my vision.
He is serious minded and is determined to get it right for patients.
If you have a retina issue, he's the one to see.
Remember, he is a retinal specialist. That is what he does best.
Patients desiring instant service may want to see another
doctor inside of the Coastal Eye Group with a specialty in speediness.
Most importantly however, if waiting for Dr Doering

I have been seeing Dr. Doering now for a number of years. I was diagnosed with macular degeneration and was referred to him by my optometrist. He has gotten my m.d. stabilized and I only have to see him now every 5 weeks for treatment. I may have to wait awhile, but not going blind in my right eye is worth the wait! (My treatment requires 30- 45 min. which I always plan for.) Dr. D. is great and I enjoy his company. He cares about his patients. I highly recommend him.
His support staff is competent and friendly also.

My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Carl Sloane at Coastal Eye Group for the past several years. He’s an excellent doctor with great credentials! He gives a very thorough and complete medical examination. We like him so much we referred my sister and her husband to him and they are equally pleased. The office wait time can get a bit crazy because it is a very busy office, but he is worth waiting for. We trust him to take care of all our eye healthcare needs.

If you are in a hurry, don't waste your 3 hours here for an emergency. Go to the ER. 4 emergency cases were seen before our scheduled Appointment and at least 2 of those were sent to Georgetown surgery centers. We were there for 2 1/2 hours last week, then over 2 hours today for a re-check! Totally understaffed with doctors. Wish I had paid attention to the reviews before we wasted our time. Might be an okay doctor, but after 7 days said, come back in a week to re-check.... NEVER again. Thank God my husband is all right, but we will see his regular doctor for his follow-up. Very dis-satisfied with
