Services
Ruckle's has been an important part of the Clare community for many years, in one form or another. The bar was first opened as the 'Village Pub'. The Village Pub served local residents for many years until the business was purchased by Gary Ruckle around 1980. It was split into two separate bars for quite some time; 'Downtown Danny's' and 'Ruckles'.
Stop into Ruckles today to enjoy lunch or dinner. We're famous for our homemade pizzas that our customers just can't get enough of! There's also a selection of tasty burgers, great dinner plate options, soups/salads, and many different unique appetizers! Homemade tortilla chips with seasoned beef, cheese sauce, Cheddar-Jack cheese, lettuce, tomato & onion.
Come in to satisfy your thirst with one of our many drink choices. We always have several domestic choices on draft, such as Budweiser, Bud Light, Miller, and Miller Light. You will also be able to typically find that we're offering Leinenkugel and Killians on draft as well. We keep our seasonal beers rotating to offer fresh new choices all year long!

I give 5 stars for the Rybeye and French Onion Soup that was excellent, but only 1 star for the cod dinner. You should let people know before ordering that it's not real fish. Its minced meat and frozen fish like u buy in a box at a grocery store. I told them I wont eat it so I pretty much paid $12 for mashed potatoes bcuz it all I ate. Very disappointed. We eat there all the time. 1st time I've been so disappointed. Fish fry on Saturdays is excellent. Service was great, but Cod Dinner is a rip off!

Never been there before. Really nice bar with a nice sized menu. All wood floors and very nice atmosphere. Food was good, prices were good and the beer list was ample. Had a very good experience. Wait staff was nice too. Ofcourse we were there on a Wednesday in the middle of the afternoon. Would stop there again on our way north or back.

I walked in, a record audibly scratched and everybody stared at me, because they had never seen me before. My wife's family lives in this town. We stopped here for a snack before a wedding reception. The fries were outstanding... I mean it. I'm not even a big french fry guy, but they were these thick, curled wedges and they just might be the best fried potato I have ever eaten.
They serve everything in a cold glass and had a good, local IPA on tap... 5 stars, would recommend; but go with a local!

This place is fantastic! I've stopped here about 3 times on my way home from hiking near Cadillac and each time I'm just as satisfied.
The wings are great! Good size and the flavors are all exceptional, on Sunday's they are .60/each. Paninis and pizzas are tasty too! Bloody Mary's are well made as well. Nothing really bad on the menu to knowledge.
Friendly staff, low key atmosphere, go here!

This was my third visit to the place and after the second visit we weren't going back because of the atmosphere. I wanted to give it another try. This time, the atmosphere was better and the food wasn't bad, however I wouldn't go ordering the French Onion Soup. I found it gummy. I would give the place try though.

Rode into Clare on a sleepy Monday night for early morning business. Searched for some decent local food on Yelp and I was encouraged by other reviews to pop in here. Definitely a local joint, but worth moving out of the comfort zone for this solo diner. If you are in the mood for a cold beer, good burger, and crispy fries, search no further! The staff was super attentive and didn't mind that I was just passing through town.

One wouldn't expect much from a bar on the outskirts of a tiny town in Central Michigan known mostly for Amish woodworking.
But there's just something about Ruckle's Pier on Main Street in Clare Michigan that fits in with the up-north vacationing lifestyle.
Bedecked with a nautical theme and lots of wooden modling, Ruckle's is the home to cheap beer in frosty mugs and some great food.
I was impressed by my ham sub and also the ceasar salad, and not just because I have low standards for anything cooked in Clare. To be honest, I've had bad experiences in this city before

With a cottage in Farwell, Clare is the closest city for picking up groceries or grabbing a bite to eat. For a small town, Clare has got a nice gamut of restaurants to choose from, but nothing tops Ruckle's. It is by far the best place around for wings, pizza, and burgers. The place is usually filled with regulars so don't mind the awkward glances and stares as you walk through the side door.
It's loud, usually packed, got a funny smelly and the beer's cold. Just the way a bar is supposed to be. If the food doesn't satisfy you, the experience certainly will. Plus, the
