Services
At CathedralCare, we'll welcome you with open arms, embracing you with a combination of deeply compassionate care and highly competent treatment customized to restore your wellness and well-being. CathedralCare is a non-profit 120 bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation center - what is commonly called a nursing home, in the Cathedral District of Downtown Jacksonville, Florida.
When you are discharged from the hospital following surgery, illness or an accident, you may need additional nursing care to recover fully. Or perhaps you have already returned home and realize you need therapy services in a structured environment to regain your strength and independence.
Whether as a result of a trauma, surgery, stroke, disease, or chronic condition, when mobility, function or cognitive abilities are impaired, rehabilitation is often the pathway to recovery, renewed independence, and quality of life.Depending on your situation, your rehabilitation stay can range from a few days to a few months post-hospitalization.

In addition to comprehensive short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing care, we also offer a range of specialized programs for residents who are dealing with complex primary and secondary conditions. We have certified master clinicians providing state-of-the-art programs and services designed to promote added comfort and healing, a problem-free recovery and positive long-term prognosis.
We understand that it's never easy to put the care of a loved one into the hands of others, so we are always available to address family concerns. What's more, we will always strive to provide an honest and realistic assessment of what new residents and their families can expect upon moving to our facility.

When I was ARNP there as new grad NP/experienced RN, Ms. Ann Mitchell DON & Ms. Debra Simmons ADON (now DON) were AWESOME- as were Nurses, Dietary, & PT!
Made rounds w/me, gave me NO flack if patient needed $$$ specialty mattresses or consults. Everyone was ON POINT & LOVED their patients. Now Ms. Simmons is DON. I'd go THERE before I'd go to a fancier place- mostly because they asked questions & loved their patients. Good culture of caring gets passed on. Hard to fix bad culture have seen in some $$$$$ NHs. Just my 0.02$

I have had 3 of my family and a couple family of friends in this facility over the last 4 years. I cannot say enough good things about the staff who care for the Residents there. They were always courteous, friendly, and very caring to all of my family and friends. If I had a concern it was addressed immediately and taken care of. While it is an old building. The care provided is outstanding. I would highly recommend this facility.

As a temporary resident I was truly impressed by the friendly & helpful staff. Everyone said "good morning" with a smile. Cafeteria & dining room is clean & spacious. They give you plenty to eat at each meal. Residents are treated respectfully with care. The rooms are nice & the whole place smells pleasant. No foul odor. Physical therapy is good. & you are handled with care. There is a screened porch & enclosed outdoor patio to enjoy a morning cup of coffee right outside the dining area. Also a vending machine for junk food junkies. I recommend this place based on my own 3 week experience.
