Since 1935, the Dallas Hebrew Free Loan Association (DHFLA) has provided life-changing loans to members of the Greater Dallas Jewish community. As a social lender, we care deeply about providing financial opportunity and creating financial security for couples, families, individuals and small businesses in the North Texas Jewish community through our interest-free loan programs.
Our work of providing no interest loans to the Greater Dallas Jewish community is rooted in the Jewish tradition of Gemilut Chasadim, the giving of loving kindness, which sees helping people establish a financially secure future as the highest form of charity. Our zero interest loans not only provide hope and peace-of-mind through the relief of immediate financial strains, but give borrowers an opportunity to meet their challenges with dignity.

Services
For over 85 years, the Dallas Hebrew Free Loan Association (DHFLA) has assisted members of the Greater Dallas Jewish Community in need by providing interest-free loans. These prominent members of the Dallas Jewish community pledged $132 to establish a Gemilut Chasadim or interest-free loan fund and agreed to make loans up to $10 to Dallas Jews in need of assistance.
Our mission derives directly from biblical text, "If you lend money to My people, to the poor among you, do not act toward him (her) as a creditor: exact no interest from them.". Dallas Hebrew Free Loan Association (DHFLA), like similar Jewish free loan organizations across North America and the world, has made an essential difference in the lives of families, individuals, and small businesses in Greater Dallas.
Dallas Hebrew Free Loan Association provides interest-free loans up to $20,000 to help cover adoption costs and fertility expenses. Loans are available to couples or individuals. If you are a married couple, the non-borrowing spouse is considered an additional guarantor. The affordable way to underwrite your undergraduate and graduate studies as you pursue your career dreams. Dallas Hebrew Free Loan Association provides interest-free loans up to $3,000 per semester for a maximum of eight semesters for college and graduate school expenses (excluding fraternity or sorority fees).
Enabling families to honor a deceased loved one and comfort the living through the practice of Jewish rituals and traditions associated with loss. Dallas Hebrew Free Loan Association provides no interest loans up to $7,500 to assist with costs associated with providing a Jewish burial for a loved one including funeral expenses, cemetery plots and fees, and other services associated with properly burying the deceased.
