For over ten years, Southern Geotechnical Consultants (SGC) has been providing geotechnical engineering and environmental consulting services across the southeast (Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, and the Carolinas). From the start we have been about serving our clients with integrity, objectivity, and dependability.
SGC provides a wide range of materials testing services including special construction inspections. We are qualified and/or certified for testing and inspection related to many parts of the overall construction and/or installation process including the following: deep foundation alternatives (auger cast piles, driven piles, drilled piers, geopiers, rigid inclusions and helical piers); shallow foundations; mass grading and utilities (i.e.
The SGC Geotechnical Engineering staff has combined experience in excess of 50 years related to geotechnical engineering. We perform geotechnical studies for a wide variety of public and private improvements including high-rise buildings, low-rise commercial buildings, schools, residential subdivisions, shopping centers, bridges, hospitals, roadways, pipelines, storm water detention/retention ponds, water quality structures and high hazard dams.
SGC conducts assessments and investigations ranging from ASTM Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) to Phase II surface and/or subsurface investigations, to field mitigation verification services. Additionally, we provide a full range of assessment services for asbestos-containing materials (ACM) and lead-containing paints (LCP) prior to building renovation or demolition as well as assessments for mold and radon.
