Hot yoga has numerous benefits for the body. Infrared hot yoga uses far infrared heat which is part of the light spectrum that we can't see but can feel. Infrared heats us without warming the air around us, penetrating the body at 3 cm under the skin. As your core temperature increases, so does your heart rate.
Always listen to your body and take care of yourself. Don't worry about keeping up with other students in class, everyone practices at their own level. Eat a light meal two hours before class and drink water up to 30 minutes before class. Many people start a yoga practice because they notice they are losing flexibility and range of motion.
Impermanence is the state of lasting for only a limited period of time. A very dear friend of mine is moving away from this valley in just two weeks. She is relocating to Pennsylvania which seems awfully far away. As I think back on the many fun times we've had together, I realize I never expected this past spring would have been the last time we rode horses through pastures of baby calves.

My husband and I were in town for three days and we went to Rakta everyday! Holly was an awesome instructor. The studio is very clean and since we were there during covid restrictions we felt very safe with the sanitizing of the equipment and mats, the distancing and masks. I can’t recommend this studio and staff enough! We look forward to coming back!!

I cannot say enough amazing things about this place and Holly!! She was able to schedule a private group of 6 out of town ladies last minute. We had an absolute blast... hands down one of our favorite things we have done so far on our girls trip! Highly recommend!

My wife Kimberly and I have belonged at Rakta for a few years now. Sandy runs a wonderful studio -clean, nice warm heat, friendly and has an awesome soft floor. All the different instructors are very knowledgeable, caring, supportive and at the same time encourage us to expand our limitations. We can't say enough about how much we love Rakta and how it has improved our health and wellbeing! Thank you, Sandy!!

I was visiting Steamboat, wanted to take some hot yoga classes and found Rakta on yelp. I bought an out of town pass ($50 and includes mat) and came to class 3 times. On their schedule they list only some as "hot," so before I went I was unsure as to whether the studio would be heated. I learned that the classes listed as hot were extra hot (I think 104 degrees?) and was happy to find that the other classes were heated to around 95 degrees. (This feels glorious in the freezing weather! I wanted the extra sweat!) Each class that I was able to make happened to be a sculpt class which incorporates

The instructors are knowledgeable and reputable, and are teachers as well as leaders. Your yoga practice will happily flourish here, along with your head and heart. Namaste.

5 stars and I don't even like hot yoga- so if you prefer regular temps like me, there's still a class for you! WALL YOGA IS AMAZING! Only studio around with the setup for it, plus amazing instructor Sarah Albert makes it so fun and educational!! Gorgeous facilities, such a convenient location, I officially love practicing here!

Rakta Studio is a wonderful location in Northwest Colorado for lots of different lineages of yoga. What a treat to have infrared panels, heated AND non-heated options, tons of useful props, and a beautiful Yoga Wall right here in Steamboat Springs! I am so grateful for the opportunity to grow my personal practice, teach to a lovely community, and continue learning more about ways these ancient lessons can serve a modern culture.
