As President, Mr. Swartz is the primary contact between our firm and it's clients. He guides the firm in meeting the needs of our diverse project base, insuring timely completion and compliance with our internal quality and design standards. He has extensive experience in all phases of project development from programming and design to construction administration and post-occupancy evaluation.
Mr. Swartz also determines firm growth and goals, budgets, office policies, and personnel needs. A native of Hudson Valley New York area, Mr. Swartz has nearly thirty-six years of experience in architecture, twenty-seven as the Principle architect of his own firm based in Dutchess County. He has designed and supervised the construction of numerous liturgical, municipal, commercial, residential and housing projects.

Swartz Architecture, DPC has extensive experience in pre-construction services, estimating and scheduling, planning, architectural design, construction management, and post-occupancy evaluation. We use a variety of delivery methods from conventional design and bid, to simultaneous fast-track, to design/build.
Located on a small, topographical aggressive corner lot, this dealership needed to expand. We took this desire and developed a new state-of-the-art dealership.
In conjunction with the Mercedes-Benz World Wide Image program we converted these potential liabilities into assets creating a custom designed facility blending the existing installation with a dramatic two-story new car showroom, a fully renovated pre-owned showroom, and an expanded parts and service area.All areas of the building are now fully accessible.

Having completed expansion of this client's home (a circa 1900 "Sears and Roebuck" kit home), we were commissioned to expand their historically designated funeral home. Sensitive to the home's character and prominence in local history, the client knew that the magnitude of the addition may jeopardize the scale of the structure and degrade it's appearance.
Comprising one of our busiest market sectors, senior housing continues to grow in Dutchess County. The not-for-profit developer, Hudson Valley Housing Development Fund Company, is one of our firm's largest repeat clients and Meadow Ridge II is the largest project we have prepare for them thus far. Consisting of 52 units of affordable housing, the building is a mix of one and two bedroom rental apartments.
As architects for the original Parish Mission Church, our firm was selected to design a master plan for this 81 acre campus, modifications to the existing church facility converting it into classroom and meeting spaces, and to design a new 1,200 seat church and parish house.
This is to be the largest "up state" church construction in recent history for the Archdiocese, and is to serve as the benchmark for the Diocese as it implements its reorganization and expansion plans for the future of the Catholic Church in New York.The building encompasses 22,000 square feet of space comprised of a narthex, daily mass chapel, parish gathering hall, nave, sanctuary and related support spaces.
