Services
Our orthodontic practice is made up of a great team of individuals that have many years of experience in the orthodontic field. We feel very fortunate to have a combined total of over 267 years experience, most of which were spent in this office. Although creating beautiful smiles and great looking faces is our specialty our office takes great pride in offering a personal, friendly atmosphere.
Your Initial appointment will consist of an examination by Dr. Praska to discuss potential treatment options. We know your time is valuable, so we reserve time following the exam for diagnostic records. The records include x-rays, photos and impressions for study models. We also reserve time to show you the x-rays and develop a treatment plan.
Tooth guidance allows anterior teeth to erupt into better alignment through proper timing of deciduous tooth removals. We use the philosophy of tooth guidance so patients can avoid significant relapse and have their teeth stay straighter after the braces are removed. It also helps limit the unnecessary extractions of permanent teeth, orthognathic surgery, and future issues with temporomandibular dysfunction.
Along with the American Association of Orthodontics (AAO), we recommend that a child receive their first orthodontic screening by the age of 7, earlier if you or your family dentist notices a problem before then. By starting treatment early, we are able to recognize potential problems early and correct them before they become more serious.
Temopromandibular disorder can develop for many reasons. You might clench or grind your teeth, tightening your jaw muscles and stressing your temporomandibular joint. Or you may have a damaged jaw joint due to injury or disease. Temporomandibular disorders are treated with upper or upper and lower removable appliances.

Both our kids have been treated by Praska. We have been more than impressed with the work he has done with our kids' overbites. The guy is good! His staff is professional and very experienced. Yes, wait times are long, but he takes his time and ensures things are done correctly. Our dentist is always amazed at the results of his work!!!

I first visited Dr. Praska at the age of 36. At the time I was undergoing dental treatment and was running into serious issues with my bite. I agreed to meet with Dr. Praska with great apprehension, believing that my age and bite were impossible to treat, especially without drastic measures. Dr. Praska was very personable, conducted a review of my situation, and explained my treatment options. Over the next three and a half years every experience with this office was excellent. I still find it hard to believe that they were able to work such magic with my teeth and jaws, with very little discomfort

Atrocious wait times. A 30 minute appointment becomes 50 minutes, of which 40-45 minutes is spent waiting for Dr. Praska to get to you. There are 5-8 patients in the common treatment room at any given time, so you can imagine the round robin waiting game that everyone has to play....
