The purpose of the Thurnald Hinson Memorial Scholarship is to increase the number of appropriately trained healthcare professionals providing direct patient care in Trinity County. At Mountain Communities Healthcare District (MCHD), we are committed to helping patients and their families make informed decisions about every aspect of their care. This commitment includes providing information and resources, such as financial assistance and counselors, related to the potential cost of treatment.
Illness can be a traumatic time for both the patient and the family. That is why Mountain Communities Healthcare District has developed its own hospital based Home Health Agency. Trinity Home Health provides: Skilled Nursing, Physical Therapy and Certified Home Health Aide. Education & teaching of gait training, strengthening & therapeutic exercises, and transfer training.
Trinity Hospital's Skilled Nursing Facility offers a homelike atmosphere in a serene setting in Weaverville, with caring professionals to look after your loved ones. Daily activities are offered to stimulate and engage the residents in a friendly atmosphere. Care is provided for those who just need a little time to recover from an illness or injury, or those who can no longer be at home with respect and dignity.
In 2016, an estimated 7.0 percent of people ages 12 years and older (824 people) misused opioids in Trinity County and 1.3 percent of people (149 people) had an opioid use disorder (OUD), defined as opioid abuse or dependence. As a result of these statistics, Mountain Communities saw a need in the community for a Medication Assisted Treatment Program (MAT).
