Claussen Walters had its start back in the 1980's in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. We, the eponymous founders, Barbara Claussen and Tony Walters, brought a fresh and lively approach to the there-to-fore mundane business of real estate. We always did things differently because we saw things differently and became known as the innovators within our industry.
An exciting new chapter in our area's nearly 100-year equestrian tradition began in 2014 with the development of the world-class Tryon International Equestrian Center, the ultimate international destination for all who love horses, outdoor living and an active lifestyle. Added over summer 2014 were a Grand Prix ring with permanent seating for 4,500, one of the world's largest covered arenas, and a hand-painted Venetian carousel.
How did the Tryon area become nationally and even internationally known as a center for equestrian sports? It was no accident. Starting nearly 100 years ago, wealthy industrialists and sportsmen from the Midwest discovered Tryon. They realized that its climate, rural character and scenic beauty made it a perfect seasonal center for the equestrian pursuits they enjoyed.
Green River Adventures, a tourism-based guide service, launched The Gorge, the steepest, fastest canopy tour in the country. If you are looking for a high-adventure, heart-pumping whitewater experience, this is it! One of the steepest commercially run sections of whitewater in the Southeast, the Upper Green consists of continuous Class II-III rapids and two Class IV's.
Visit the Blue Ridge Mountains and you'll find tranquility nestled in the valleys between North and South Carolina. I have dealt with numerous realtors over the years in multiple locations from the mountains to the seashore and I can say without reservation, that Barbara and Tony are the best that I have ever dealt with. We found this agency to be really excellent. They know the realty business back to front from their many years of experience. They are very knowledgeable and effective. We also enjoyed them as very likeable people- down to earth, friendly, not at all pushy, wise and discriminating when it comes to negotiations and very easy to work with. I cannot recommend Tony and Barbara enough! They sat down with us and really took time to get to know our family and understand what we were looking for in a house. They were kind, patient, and thorough, explained every step of the buying process, and communicated quickly and clearly throughout.
