The purpose of this site is to give you an overview of our practice - The Center for Esthetics, Function, and Implant Rehabilitation located in North Royalton Ohio. This site is filled with valuable information about our practice and about dental care in general. Much of this information is difficult to find anywhere else and details the methods and beliefs of this practice and Dr. Karl Hegyi.

We encourage you to take a few minutes to view this information (especially the "Core Methods and Beliefs" section) and decide whether or not this is the right dental practice for you. We hope this information helps you make some important decisions regarding your dental care, regardless of where that care is provided.
Services
This critical section is intended for anyone who wants to know what complete dental care can do to improve their overall quality of life. It does so by providing detailed information about the treatments and services that are most important for optimum dental health, comfort, and an attractive smile.
There is likely no topic in dentistry more poorly understood than that of the relationship of dental biomechanics to dental health and the comfort and longevity of our dental restorations and implants. There is also not one that is more important. The purpose of this section is to explain what biomechanical factors and biomechanical harmony are, what they affect, how they have these effects, and why they are so important.
We believe there are important differences between "esthetic" and "cosmetic" dental treatment. Cosmetic treatment implies treatment that is done strictly for visual appearance and is not substantive. On the other hand, esthetic treatment goes far deeper than just visual attractiveness. It also requires harmony and balance.
Periodontal disease is an infectious and contagious disease where harmful bacteria attack the supporting structures of the teeth. These include the gums (gingiva) and the portions of the jawbone surrounding the roots of the teeth. Because these harmful bacteria live in saliva, they are easily transmissible from person to person with such activities as kissing or sharing drinking or eating utensils.
General dental care involves the basic services you traditionally see a general or family dentist for. These include cleanings, fillings or other tooth repair restorations, and the replacement of missing teeth (see "Restoring Damaged and Unattractive Teeth" and "Esthetic vs. Cosmetic Dental Treatment").

The journey is worth it! I have been seeing Dr. Hegyi for the past three years. I came to him and his office after many years of trying various dentists and evaluations for sporadic TMJ jaw pain. Dr. Hegyi and his staff were so patient and kind with me! They were up front about the treatment plan, what it entailed, what we would learn and the cost. I was able to get the appointments I needed during the times requested. Dr. Hegyi was patient and listened to my concerns when I shared my history and that I wanted to be as conservative as possible with treatment. I am so thankful that I found him and

I went to Karl alot of times and I mean ALOT to fix my bite. Hes's a nice guy or one heck of a good salesman, or both but, he was unable to deliver the results he thought he could. My mouth was uncomfortable before I went to Karl and it was more uncomfortable after. You should have recommended an orthodontist to me Karl....I trusted you. I can only hope when you see my situation again in others that you recommend braces. That's what worked.

Karl is BRILLIANT! Not only in his understanding of the biomechanics of the Temporomandibular joint but in his approach to treating joint dysfunction. i should be so blessed to have helped as many people in my career as he has in his. He has been on staff at the prestigious Dawson Center and provided in depth, literature supported continuing education for legions of dentists. He often treats the most difficult of cases that others don't have the knowledge or wherewithal to treat themselves. These are often the most debilitated and stand the least chance of success. I, and my patients have benefited

Amazing Doctor. If you have jaw pain, or teeth that seem "off" or have lost their sense of "home"/ normality, he is your man. Ethical, educated beyond others in the field. You can rest assured you are getting the best care possible with honesty, care, and transparency that others in the field simply do not compare to. His staff is caring and considerate, taking into account psychosocial elements to your situation and treatment plan. Rest assured that when there seems no solution, he has one, he is your man!

I think my jaw joints were too far beyond repair to fix when I came for treatment.
I saw them for extended times twice. They recently fixed my bite. Very kind people. And they did a couple followups at no extra cost.
I can say that after years of seeking an answer for my tmj, they were able to properly diagnose my situation. Despite living with a problem that is beyond repair, I am very grateful for their professional service.
I highly recommend Dr. Hegyi for any issues with TMJ. I only wish I found him sooner!

Dr. Hegyi is a fantastic dentist with wonderful chairside manners. His staff is exceptional. I'm at total ease with this entire staff and can recognize the immense amount of knowledge that Dr. Hegyi contains. If you want a full comprehensive exam that will range from just filling a cavity to diagnosing and treating chronic migraines or TMJ - THIS is your man.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hegyi's for over a year now, and have had nothing but exceptional experiences in his office! I was having TMJ issues when I was referred to him, and was in pain. He and his team took great care of me, both physically and emotionally, at each and every visit. I have seen firsthand some of Dr. Hegyi's cosmetic work, and I can't wait to have him touch up some of my previously done work, he is truly a dental ARTIST! Thank you Dr. Hegyi, Deb & Donna, you are all gems in your field, and I really appreciate all you have done for me!
