Such a cute place! We only stopped in for coffee, but the food looks amazing. The coffee (and hot chocolates) were delish!
I used to come with my grandmother to Mix Bakery, so I love that they've kept some of the "old" things and melted them with some new things. It's a brilliant combination of where Windom's been and new tomorrows.

We were driving through and hungry, lucky us!
What a cute place, the food is very good and service good too. We had a Cobb salad, French dip sandwich with brisket chili, Italian sandwich and chicken dance sandwich. We cleaned our plates and enjoyed every bit! Stop by if you're driving thru, if you live here what are you waiting for?!

We got a menu item less the bun and were charged extra for it being a gluten free meal. Substituting a salad meant being charged for the salad and also another $1.00 to make the substitution. When it was brought to the attention of the waitress it wasn't handled well in my opinion. No real criticism of the food. But I wasn't impressed that having a gluten allergy makes it really frustrating to eat here.

Soooo river city is a small town cafe with tables that are so uneven they constantly go from side to side Bc they need to be leveled I seen three different groups of people shove napkins under their tables to keep them even. It's also extremely cold in there you can't get comfortable. They menu is ok... but the owners dog runs around the cafe. Don't get me wrong I like dogs but come on... also the waitress had dog hair all over here. I guess for coffee it's fine. Not a fan

Coffee very palatable ... waitstaff helpful and pleasant. Nice home style menu ... the space is a downtown vintage building with an urban flare. We had macaroni and cheese with the smoked drummies , which the special of the day. Everything was tasty and plentiful. Great coffee and such nice people! I had an awkward moment and spilled a fresh latte all over myself, my table, and my brother’s white dress shirt. They helped us clean it up, fix my brothers shirt, and made me a fresh latte for no charge. Will definitely be back next time we are in town! Thanks River City!

This was our first stop at River City Eatery, and we were very pleased with our experience! The service was fast and friendly and the food was delicious! I had the French Dip sandwich and the roast beef was soooooo tasty! I almost drank the au jus at the end. Yum!! Oh, and dessert was the lava cake with ice cream... double yum! This was our first stop, but it will not be our last!

Wow, this place is good! We stopped in for lunch on a weekend getaway, and didn't know what to expect. We seated ourselves in the newly opened room next door, and ordered sodas. We read the menus and learned the owners really celebrate pork.
Surprisingly, my spouse and I both picked the same item (this never happens): a lasagna noodle wrapped around ricotta, smothered in a cheddar sauce and then sprinkled with bacon, with two pretzel bread sticks. The food came quickly, and other than the excess cheese sauce, we both loved every bite.
We left stuffed and happy, and even with two cookies

Another Yelp win! Driving between Iowa and Minneapolis and found this gem of a restaurant. Great and very friendly service, beautiful presentation and delicious food!
He really enjoyed the French Dip with freshly fried chips. I had the meatball sub (without bread) and a side Cobb salad (without corn). The meatballs were tender and tasty and the sauce tasted fresh and homemade. It was more than I could eat, so he helped with my salad.
We both would definitely stop here again!

This is an awesome gem here in the middle of small town America. Incredibly friendly staff and delicious food. For anyone passing through this town, this place is a must, just a few blocks off the main road it is easily accessible. My grandparents have lived in this town since I was a kid and I spent summers here growing up, and this is the best eatery I've seen here.

Local flavor is a great way to describe this little restaurant. We were driving through Windom on our way to Nebraska and decided to see if there were any local options besides the McDonald's. I'm so glad I found this! The restaurant is quaint and small with a surprisingly diverse menu. The presentation of the food was super cute and rustic in mason jars and my sandwich served in a baking pan. The service was rather slow but only two people were working and doing all the jobs so I have to give them credit for that. The restaurant is connected to a larger meeting space where you

I'm very glad I took a chance and got off the beaten path to find this little gem of a place! I was passing through town on my way elsewhere and was just looking for a spot to stop for a beer. I passed up another establishment on the north side of town as I thought RCE looked more like the kind of place I'd enjoy; unique, cozy, and with a little bit of history.
It was a slow time of day, somewhere between the rushes, and I was the only one in here for a little while. As I learned from the gal working that day, it used to be a bakery and looking around the space you will certainly see

Could this place be any cuter? Love the history and decor and the waitress is a doll! Amazing coffee options and a small breakfast menu but with vegetarian and GF options... Very quaint and comfortable, feels like home! Great stop for bite to eat and a self-serve coffee pump station and full specialty coffee bar options too (I'm sure the regular food is amazing too!)
