Lake Oswego Smiles offers a full array of dental services to help you maintain healthy teeth. Your initial oral examination includes a visual examination, charting, periodontal probing, diagnosis and treatment recommendations.
We will also take x-rays, which includes the panoramic x-ray for proper diagnosis of the anterior (front) and posterior (back) teeth as well as the bite-wing x-ray series for proper diagnosis of proximal decay of posterior teeth.Implants are synthetic structures that are placed in the area of the tooth normally occupied by the root.

All our professionals at Lake Oswego Smiles maintain the highest levels of accreditation and pursue ongoing education to stay informed of the latest trends in dentistry. I am a native Oregonian. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene from OHSU in 1993. After practicing full-time for many years, I joined Dr. Smith's Front Office Team in 2012.

There are many reasons why adult teeth may need restorative treatment. The most common reason is decay, followed by fractured teeth, and old restorations needing replacement. If we recommend that a tooth with a cavity be treated and more than a few weeks pass after the initial diagnosis, the cavity will almost always get bigger and can cause pain.
Some dental problems are fairly straightforward. For simple staining and discoloration, a few professional tooth whitening procedures can do the trick. A broken or severely decayed tooth can be repaired with a crown, and orthodontic treatment can fix significant alignment problems for crooked and unevenly spaced teeth.

Very polite staff and the doctor did not act like he was in a hurry to leave our appointment during what was a VERY busy schedule with many rooms full. He kept asking me "do you have any other questions for me?" prior to leaving. He caught decay in a left bottom tooth that the previous dentist did not. He was both professional, savvy and had a great "chairside manner" I went to great lengths to find a good dentist since I will have so many issues upcoming and I"m glad to have found Dr. McNutt.

A coworker recommended this office and I decided to give it a try. I have had a handful of appointments there so far and 3/5 have been rescheduled. Two of them being low on staff, and one being a scheduling error of double booking someone's name after mine and choosing the other patient before me.
Now i called a week prior of my appointment time to make sure i am good to go and the scheduler told me i will have to reschedule because of staffing...again.
Beautifully renovated office and nice staff, but not a fan as far as scheduling goes.

I am so pleased with everyone at Lake Oswego Smiles. Dr. Smith is always pleasant and does a wonderful job explaining treatment and options. Kindra (hygenist) makes you feel right at home and is great at her job! The office is beautiful and you can tell that the entire staff takes pride in their work

My wife and I have been going to Dr Smith for a couple years now. We love it. The office is beautiful, they have the latest high-tech gear, the staff are friendly, prophylaxis is thorough, issues are well-explained, and billing is easy. They even give back to the local community. I can't think of anything not to like!

Ive had a lot of dental work done and a lot more to go. i went to lake oswego smiles because of an emergency and the staff got me in that same day. they worked with me for setting up the next few appointments with my difficult scheduled.
i had a tooth pulled and some other work. i watched a few episodes of friends then it was done. the laughing gas helped 8)
