While on active duty in the US Naval Dental Corps he trained extensively in Oral Surgery, Endodontics, Periodontics and Restorative dentistry and moved frequently around the world.

Services
The best thing since sliced bread, this is a painless method to administer dental anesthesia without using syringes! We know that some patients het more nervous than others at the mere sight of a needle and syringe. That's why we now use the CompuDent system, which features the Wand, a small handpiece that looks like a pen.
For more than 25 years the World's Top Dentists have been using the Dental Microscope to provide the most ideal dental treatment for their patients. Dr. Hughes has been using the Microscope for more than 8 years here in Sarasota County and in recognition of his Dental accomplishments has been named a Top Dentist by the other Dentists in our community for the past 3 years.
Dr. Hughes has always enjoyed treating children and at one point treated children full time while he was the only Dentist providing dental care to the families of Twentynine Palms, Ca. Here in Sarasota County parents feel the need to take their children to a Pedodontist because so many offices don't treat children.
Our modern world of technology allows this team of professionals numerous ways to fully educate patients. The skilled use of digital photography, digital x-rays, intraoral videography, and computer generated education modules allow patients to see and understand exactly what Dr. Hughes and his staff diagnose and recommend.
These easy to understand patient education videos allow you to learn about Dental Procedures and Treatment Options that we can provide for you. Caesy is the most comprehensive patient education program in Dentistry today. The program uses images and brief narration to explain the diagnosis, procedure, alternative treatments, and instruction for each dental topic.

I wanted to give a big shout out to my dentist, his assistants and hygienist Laurie. I just came back from my cleaning with her and she was excellent. She did a great job with my cleaning and also noted something that was not quite right with one tooth. Doc Hughes came in and confirmed a loose or broken filling and caught something from getting worse! They always take great care of me and my partner and are simply a wonderful group both professionally and personally. Thanks everyone!

The best dental experience I have ever had. Dr. Hughes and his staff are caring and gentle. From the minute you walk in to the time you leave they make sure you are comfortable and well taken care of. Dr. Hughes is absolutely amazing and extremely knowledgeable. I can't say enough about this office.
