Quartz is man made, but is 95% natural. It is non-porous, and very durable. It is available in more colors and designs than granite, but is also generally more expensive. Granite is all natural stone, that is cut into manageable sizes and polished. It is very durable, and some experts recommend re-sealing granite every 3-5 years, to help resist dirt and spills that may etch or stain your counter tops.
