If things slow down during a birth, a chiropractic assessment and adjustment can sometimes help get things back on track. Most of our patients are private pay, because insurance plans limit coverage for corrective care. Insurance does not cover wellness or maintenance care. Since we do not incur the overhead involved with insurance billing, we pass the savings along to you.

Services
Dr. Erica Hernandez, is a doctor of chiropractic, and a DONA trained birth doula, she has a Bachelor of Science in Health and Wellness and a Bachelor of Science in Biology; she strives to empower others, by joining them on their journey to health and wellness. Dr. Erica is not currently serving as a doula, but instead strives to support mothers through her prenatal and postpartum care as a chiropractor.
At Empowered Chiropractic + Massage, we want you to take control of your life. We follow a vitalistic model of care, because we know that this will allow our clients to thrive. As a doctor of chiropractic, Dr. Erica is trained to find and correct subluxations. Subluxations are minor misallignments of a joint, or bone that cause irritation to the nerves and interference in the nervous system.
As parents, we are here to tell you that if there is any time in your life, that it is critical for you to take care of your nervous system, then pregnancy is that time. People conceive, and have children every day, but how often do we talk about the important details that involve the process of two cells, merging and transforming into a living breathing, thriving human being.
Just as you would take time to prepare for a marathon, it is wise to take time to prepare for birth. Chiropractic care is an important part of pregnancy. Making sure that your body is properly aligned, will allow your baby to have sufficient room to grow and move into the most ideal position for birth.
As our children learn, and grow, the real fun begins! They start testing out their body; they roll over, and crawl, and eventually start to walk and run! They start to climb on EVERYTHING, and sometimes they fall, because that too is part of the process. Chiropractic care will ensure that nothing slows our children down from exploring the world around them, so they can continue to grow and thrive.

This review is two years late, but Empowered Chiropractic did wonders while I was pregnant in 2018. Baby was breech in the third trimester, and I was dealing with a lot of pregnancy related aches and pains. Not only did she help baby turn into the right position, but she did a lot to relieve the various pains and problems I was experiencing. She recommended some very helpful exercises and stretches that I'm still using two years later - just because they work so well.
As a bonus, she did a newborn adjustment when my son was born! I highly recommend Empowered Chiropractic.

Prenatal chiropractor expert! Dr. Erica’s knowledge and physical work is truly impressive. An example of her expertise: she was working with me on a prenatal adjustment and doing some exercises to my belly to ease my tension and told me baby was facing up. She suggested exercises to help encourage him to turn and face down. I was skeptical at first because I was thinking how could she possibly know which way baby was facing by simply feeling around my belly? Well a week later I had a sonogram appointment and she told me baby was facing upwards! I didn’t even tell her of what Dr. Erica has mentioned

Erica was amazing during my pregnancy! I'm sure she is the reason I stayed so comfortable through my third trimester. I only wish I would have started visiting her sooner. I appreciate the information she provided and the different stretches she showed me to use at home to stay comfortable and get ready for baby's arrival. If you're unsure if chiropractic care during pregnancy is or is not for you.. I urge you to just make one appointment and see for yourself just how wonderful she is.

I received some much needed work from Dr. Erica and my pain level went from an 8 to a 3 in just 15 minutes. Not only did she treat my areas of complaint, but she also found other areas that needed some attention and took time to work on those as well. I felt cared for, listened to, and also that I was in knowledgeable hands. This woman knows what she’s doing!

I've been to two different chiropractors before one for myself a long time ago and one for my son shortly after he was born. The first was a total quack, trying to sell me supplements claiming I had a viral infection. The second didn't really know what he was doing. Needless to say I have been pretty weary of chiropractors ever since.
Erica is totally different though. She knows what she is doing. Will give you "homework" if you want it and always answers your questions. She has been awesome!
