The teaching staff is the most important component of a Preschool program. Several of our teachers have more than 15 years of experience here at MCP and we are excited to welcome new teaching staff to our long-standing tradition! Mary Stewart, our Director, has been at MCP since 2001. Previously, she was an assistant and a lead teacher in the classroom.
Play is a central aspect of our Preschool Program, so we make use of both our indoor and outdoor spaces for education. Because children learn by doing, we allow each child lots of time to explore, create, and learn about the world around them. This gives them a strong foundation for their educational career - but it just feels like fun!
The activities we plan for children, the way we organize the environment, select toys and materials, plan the daily schedule and talk with children are all designed to accomplish the goals of our curriculum and to give your child a successful start in school. 9:10 - 10:05 Divide into smaller groups for Teacher Directed activities and child choice play that includes, building, dramatics, problem-solving, math, science, Literacy, and art.
In the true spirit of a cooperative, parents and family members are invited and encouraged to offer their time, talents, and support to the Preschool in some capacity. In the fall, family members will have the opportunity to sign up for tasks ranging from assisting in the classroom to repairing toys and books.
