Hays Academy of Hair Design is a great school. The owners and instructors truly seem to care about our success in school and afterwards. They do so much more than just preparing you for your state board exams. They help you build habits and character that will last a lifetime and help you in your career and life in general.
In January of 2003, Summer Melvin and Danielle Markley (sisters) purchased the beauty school with the vision of offering the students with an up to date, cutting edge education. The goal was an education that will enable students to thrive in the beauty industry. Furthermore, they had a strong desire to offer the community professional salon services at a very affordable price.
Hays Academy of Hair Design Alumni can now be found in many different states across the U.S. It is important to us to work hard to form a strong network of professionals with our graduates being the very foundation of this group. We hope that each of our graduates will stay in touch with us through this media source in an effort to develop a stronger, more unified family of Alumni.

HAHD has become a huge stepping stone into beauty industry. Some of my life long friends have been met through my clients, fellow classmates, and staff. I used to always say I can't but now I say I can and I will. There was not one person in this school who didn't believe me. I accomplished things I didn't even know were possible.

What an amazing experience. Booked an appt with Lauren Battle for a balayage. Lauren and her teachers were very knowledgeable and hit the color right on the mark. Lauren treated me professionally and made me feel very comfortable. The salon was CLEAN! Great atmosphere! Will defiantly make another appt. Have also been for my nails and waxing with Lauren and other students. Service was great!

I've always enjoyed getting pedicures at Hays Academy. The students are professional and fun to talk with. Bessie Gaines was exceptional with my last pedi. Her massage was great and the work looked like a pro who had been a stylist for years! Thanks for great conversation and spoiling me for the day, Bessie!
My daughter was also over the top spoiled by Anastasia States. My 5 year old LOVES nail art. Ana offered it up before she even had to ask. Bridgette also fell asleep during her pedi. Obviously the most relaxing experience. Thanks for taking such great care of my baby, Ana!

Afrika did such an amazing job on all of my services today! She took time to listen to exactly what I wanted with my haircut and it came out better than I could have imagined. I got a haircut, eyebrow wax, manicure and pedicure from her and it was all good! Afrika was very personable and professional the whole time and we got along well! 10/10 would recommend going to her for any and all services.

Hays Academy is the absolute best, the people are always so amazing! When I went in, Jenny Russel did my hair, she was amazing! She listened to want I wanted and She did an astounding job on my haircut and color. I am so in love with it! Her bubbly personality made me feel comfortable and the confidence she just radiates made me feel at ease when she was doing my cut and color! I can’t wait to go back to her and have her cut and color my hair again!

Amazing!!! I went for a mani and a pedi and I had the BEST spa experience I’ve ever had. Management was amazing from the moment we walked in the door- Eric Markley and his staff. Then when I got mani and pedi service, it was awesome. Wendy did such an amazing job— was so accommodating, kind, wonderful and sweet. I had the best experience there. Also— it was the best foot/leg massage I’ve ever had. I’m from Kansas City and usually go there but this was better by far! Thank you, Hays Hair Academy and Wendy! Dani and Eric Markley run a wonderful school!

I love hays academy for hair design. Afrika has cut my hair given me a manicure and pedicure. She is delightfully professional amd has great conversations. She brings awesome ideas to the table. I'm new to the area so I went to Google and I put in nails near me a few of them popped up I was looking at reviews Hays academy caught my eye I seen that there was a nail technician by the name of Natalie she had really good reviews I requested her and I am so glad that I did cuz I'm well satisfied with the results of my nails.
