Kent Island Pediatric Dentistry is a team of expert pediatric dentists who share a common goal: to redefine the way young people feel about "going to the dentist". By creating a truly positive in-office experience, we work to instill better oral hygiene habits, inspire children to take care of their teeth, and encourage healthy lifestyle changes that will last a lifetime.
We knew it would take a truly integrated effort to drive on these goals. In other words, it would take more than a fun waiting room. It takes a thoughtful, individualized approach customized to each patient. It takes an experienced staff that listens. It takes a true belief in education-taking the time to inform and explain good habits, or provide caregivers and parents clear options if treatments are needed.

Services
Community is at the heart of all that we do at Kent Island Pediatric Dentistry. We believe in doing our part to ensure dental health can be extended to children who may not have the means to visit the dentist. During National Children's Dental Health month, Kent Island Pediatric Dentistry visits local schools and daycare facilities.
In our welcoming setting and new, state-of-the-art operatories-our patients receive expert care and customized treatments to ensure a healthy, happy smile now and well into the future. Regular dental visits help your child stay cavity-free. We will provide an assessment of your child's present oral health and make recommendations to their hygiene regimen to promote and maintain good oral health.
Before the appointment where Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen (laughing gas) will be used with local anesthesia. Please tell your pediatric dentist about any respiratory condition that makes breathing through the nose difficult for your child. It may limit the effectiveness of nitrous oxide/oxygen. Please tell your pediatric dentist if your child is taking any medication on the day of the appointment.
Following treatment, your child's teeth, tongue, lips, and cheeks may be numb for an additional 1-2 hours. Please watch your child; often they find this sensation unusual and may bite or play with the area leading to discomfort when the anesthesia has worn off. If you are taking your child back to school or daycare, please inform their teacher or caretaker.
More than 1 in 4 children in the United States have cavities by the time they are 4 years old. That's a lot. To that end, we believe in following the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry's recommendation that your child visit us every six months after the eruption of the first tooth, or when they turn one.

We called here to schedule an appt to have my sons tooth fixed. A few years ago he fell on the playground and broke his tooth in half. A few days ago it broke off again.
They refused to see him without a cleaning claiming it was "necessary"
So first, we were living in PA when my sons tooth first broke and the dentist there not only did not need to clean his teeth before hand but the cost was way more reasonable.
Kent Island Pediatrics quoted us at $335 for a cleaning. If you're paying that for a cleaning you have way to much money. The average cost for a cleaning is $32 to $100. Heck, my sons

We have been coming here for years. Our son has high anxiety and at Kent Island Pediatric Dentistry they have always kept our son anxiety down for all the years we have been coming. Always having the same dental hygienist every-time so our son knew what to expect every single time coming to the dentist. Kent Island Pediatric Dentistry has went above and beyond to always easy our son anxiety. I highly recommend this dentist for children with anxiety!

Every visit we've had (this was our 3rd) has been great but today clinched it! Our son is autistic and any doctor appointment can sometimes be difficult but they have been fantastic with him since day one!… Today, knowing his love for numbers, they counted while cleaning. After the 1st visit, they told him his teeth looked "marvelous" & he loved it! They remember and use it every time now! There is so much I could say! Thank you Christie, Jasmine and everyone for meeting him where he is and putting him at ease. I cannot express how much that means to us!
