At Surf City Smiles, we offer exceptional orthodontic treatment and we dare to make it affordable! Our office will work diligently with your insurance company to make sure you are getting the coverage you deserve. This means you won't be fighting to have your orthodontic needs met. Please understand that there is simply no way to offer an accurate cost for treatment until your initial consultation.
Eat whatever you want! That's right, ZERO dietary restrictions. Just take the aligners out when you eat, brush and then replace them when you are finished. Spend your time how you choose. Invisalign appointments are shorter and less frequent than traditional braces - only about 20 min every 8-12 weeks versus 30-40 min every 4-8 weeks.

Let me to start by saying this is an expensive Orthodontist and you better like all of them in the office because if you have one issue with one person you'll get the cold shoulder even from the doctor yes they all look nice but if you have one issue or a problem or something you will get the cold shoulder when you go in they will not talk to you the doctor will not talk to you they will just work on whatever they are working on your child yourself and not even talk to you nothing because that is what happened to my family so I know I've heard a lot of things you know how the office girls

Surf City Smiles is treating my son - who was 9 when he started - with Invisalign! My son was adamant about getting Invisalign and Dr. Carlson was surely an expertise at guiding us through the process with him being at such a young age. My son is almost done with treatment and his teeth look amazing. Dr. Carlson was very thorough and kept his treatment on track adjusting aligners along the way as needed. My daughter can't wait until it's her turn! ...also worth noting for parents curious, my son remained very compliant when it came to wearing and caring for his aligners!

Dr. Carlson is a rarity. On his day off, he gladly saw my son who had been crying from tooth pain. This was our first time seeing him and as soon as we called on a weekend, he made himself available. His pleasant, kind mannerism was so comforting to my 9-yr old son. He took x-rays and immediately identified the problem. Even though it was extra effort on his part, he took time to write a referral to our family dentist so the dentist would feel comfortable pulling the tooth since it wasn’t an orthodontist problem and even w/o staff for the day, Dr. Carlson spent extra time forwarding a prescription

I had a fixed lower retainer that had broken in a few places and was causing a lot of discomfort. Upon hearing recommendations of Dr. Carlson, I decided to see what he could do for me. We were able to schedule an appointment to be seen very promptly and I am very pleased with the quality care I received... I've never been to such a pristine office with genuine and patient staff! I even received sound advice on how to go about the rest of the oral care I am in need of.

What an amazing place! Not only is it a friendly and beautiful office, the staff is warm and inviting. Dr Carlson was great and explain everything and answered every question. My kids deal with high anxiety relating to any medical/dental treatments and Dr. Carlson and staff go above and beyond to put my kids at ease by talking them through the process of what to expect before, during and after treatment.

Dr. Carlson & his staff are very compassionate & professional. My daughter's braces are complicated because she has a fake front tooth, from a skateboard accident. Her case is sensitive & again, complicated. Dr. Carlson exerts a lot of efforts to coordinate treatments for an implant & matching fake tooth along with her braces. Would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Carlson to anyone looking for an orthodontist who is tech-savvy, forward thinking and AMAZING with kids and adults both. He's amazingly patient, super thorough and I can tell he invests personally in making sure each patient is happy and gets their desired outcome in the most efficient way possible.
