In South Carolina an award of alimony/spousal support is gender neutral and available to whichever spouse earns less. Attorney Berl handled a closing for my family when we bought a lot in Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort this past spring. We live in PA so all was done through email and phone conversation. His paralegal and receptionist were very professional and did all that was asked of them in a timely manner. We met Attorney Berl at his office for the closing and he was a gentleman to deal with as well as his friendly staff. He gave us some pointers on places to visit in the area, was great interacting with our 8 year old, and of course handled the transaction with professionalism. If we need anything in

Make sure you read your reviews before selecting an attorney for your closing! Jim Berl did not do ANY of his buyers paperwork before he was supposed to close on our house. Fortunately, our attorney Ashley Brown figured it out beforehand, but not in time for us all to close in time. Not only did we lose our movers because we had to change the closing day to later in the week, but he also charged US $30 to wire our attorney after his mistake. She fought for us, just out of principle, but he actually refused. She said she has never seen this happen before in her career. Unprofessional, and inefficient

In 2012,I was trying to buy a foreclosure and put $60k down. I had a heart attack and emergency quad bypass surgery and was incapacitated. Jim left voicemails knowing I was in ICU telling me we’re going to lose the deal. I’m trying to stay alive. Jim let it expire and I lost my $60k, which he never fought for. Integrity-NO! Compassion-NO! Professionalism-HELL NO. There are so many good attorneys, he would be the last one I’d use.
