Gunsite Academy
Many of our clients ask about the use and application of lasers on their personal defense handguns. In response, Gunsite has teamed up with Crimson Trace to develop a 250 Pistol class that focuses on the use of lasers. This course offers the complete 250 doctrine while adding in the practical advantages of visible lasers.

The Modern Technique, as applied to the carbine. Learn to manage your environment from arm's length to 300 yards. This course will help you become thoroughly familiar with your carbine and your capabilities with it. Of course we will cover all the important aspects of marksmanship, gun handling and mindset.
Services
The original 'American Pistol Institute' (API) now known as Gunsite Academy offers firearms training to elite military personnel, law enforcement officers and free citizens of the US. We know Americans take our rights very seriously, and the Second Amendment of the Constitution of the United States guarantees each citizen the right to keep and bear arms.
Gunsite is America's premier gun training center. With over 3,000 acres, 20+ ranges and multiple indoor and outdoor simulators, you will be hard pressed to find any facility like on earth. See aerial photo below. Here, we teach Marksmanship - how to hit what you aim at. However, Gunsite goes beyond this simple discipline to include the principles of Gun-handling and Mind-set.
Please arrive by 7:30AM on the first day of class (in front of the classrooms) for final registration. Classes begin at 8:00AM and will generally run to about 4:30-5PM. There is a lunch break each day and classes with night shoots will break for dinner prior to the night shoot. Your Rangemaster will explain your schedule for the week more in depth and let you know where you need to be each morning and afternoon.
When shipping items, such as ammunition, for your class be sure to place your name, class and date of class on outside of package. Please call the week before your class to assure your shipment has arrived. There is WIFI around the upper campus of the ranch however Verizon is the only reliable cell service.
If you are staying in Chino Valley you should allow about 20 minutes driving time to get to class. If staying in Prescott, allow 35-45 minutes. The Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is the most common airport used by students of Gunsite. You can expect a 2-hour drive from Phoenix to Gunsite.

I've brought my now 16 year old son here for the Youth programs and one private carbine tutorial. Amazing instructors! Huge thanks to Dave Hartman and Eric Ingersoll!

In the sense of full disclosure and being a local guy, I am a big fan of training at Gunsite.
That said, I take my personal responsibility for the defense of self and family seriously and thus make it a personal obligation to attend some form of sidearm re-currency every 6 months. For me, Gunsite is the place to go.
I've attended Pistol Range Days regularly over the past several years and have never failed to learn either learn something new or equally important, have had a trainer point out a weakness that I was previously unaware of. Believe me; I appreciate finding out those areas I need to

An incredible place, to be among AMERICANS, real ones! The staff was incomparable, and it was a true learning experience and life changing as well. They work your butt off no matter the weather but you come away TRAINED.

My father went to Gunsite Academy 43 years ago as a Deputy Sheriff out of Atlanta, GA. I can still remember him telling me about the school. 43 years later I finally made the journey myself and Gunsite did not disappoint! They tell you up front that their intention is not to meet any expectations you have of their school, but to exceed them, and that is exactly what they do. I went to Gunsite because I carry daily. Everywhere I go with the exception of work (I work on a Military Base). As a result of that I am constantly doing everything I can to make sure that my skills will be equal to the task

Great facilities, extremely competent instructors, stellar training. The Gunsite experience should be sought by all persons desiring to learn the use of firearms. Here you truly learn how to manipulate, shoot accurately and keep your firearms running correctly. I highly recommend Gunsite.

Some of the very best firearm instruction I have ever received. The course was well laid out to reinforce fundamentals while still working towards improving speed and accuracy, without sacrificing safety. I have to give credit to the instructors for my class, they are all top notch and made the class fun and instructional. If you want to be a better shooter, Gunsite is a must. Looking forward to the day I can go back!

I attended the 250 class in 2011, the 100th ''Anniversary of the Colt 1911. It was a very special. I have shot basically all my life, mostly rifles and pistols, and had attended several highly recognized classes prior to Gunsite. It was an epiphany and eye opener, to put it mildly. My skills were considered a cut above average, but this class improved ALL my skills so dramatically I could hardly believe it. I have been away far too long and hope to go back very soon. Since this first class, there have been many theories and practices introduced. Some actually attempt to debunk the skills taught
