Ayurveda Simple offers classes, individual consultations and customized nutritional and personal care products to those seeking optimal health. Ayurvedic health practitioner Teri Adolfo teaches from her offices in Sebastopol, while her clinical practice has branches in both Sonoma and Sebastopol. Classes translate Ayurvedic knowledge into simple-to-use ideas and new routines to support health.
You can take a practical class on cooking, learn movement and breath techniques to support health, or take a deep dive into the centuries of Ayurvedic and yogic knowledge that underpin our work. Given how central digestion is to health, a focus on nutrition, including tasting herbs and spices, is almost always part of our classes.

Ayurveda says, "You Are What You Digest". These 7, 14, or 21-day cleanses focus on your digestion. They are deep and holistic detoxifications that can have a long-lasting effect on your overall health and well-being (mentally and physically). Benefits can include increased energy, mental clarity, a lighter body (less bloat), decreased allergies, less body pain, improved digestion, stronger immunity and a better relationship with food.
Initial Visit: In our first meeting we will explore the concepts of Ayurveda, and together we will discover your Dosha or constitution, which will form the basis for all of our work. Follow-up Visit: We will review the lifestyle or treatment plan. This will include diet/nutrition, breathing techniques, herbs/spices or teas and other daily/weekly routines (self-massage, meditation or quiet time, self-care).
Our western lifestyle is plagued with stress, life pressures, toxins in our environment, foods we eat and drink all accumulate as toxins (ama) in our bodies and minds. In Ayurvedic philosophy, it is believed that ama is the root cause of all disease. Signs of ama include poor digestion and elimination, issues with sleep, inability to focus, irritability, anxiety, pain and weight gain.
From the Sanskrit words Ayur (Life) + Veda (wisdom/science), it is one of the oldest forms of health care in the world. Said to be over 5,000 years old, Ayurveda, a sister science to Yoga, is a holistic science with an emphasis on prevention and on bringing about and maintaining harmony of the body.
