A fun family first environment that teaches Traditional Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and self-defense training for the entire family! Owner and Head Coach of Ohana Jiu-Jitsu, Brown Belt Matthew Perreira, talks about his BJJ journey and what Ohana means to him. BJJ promotes the concept that a smaller, "weaker" person can successfully defend themselves against a stronger, heavier assailant.
By using proper technique, leverage, and taking the fight to the ground, the BJJ practitioner can apply joint locks, and chokeholds to defeat their opponent. BJJ training can be used for sport grappling tournaments and in self-defense situations. Sparring (commonly referred to as "rolling" within the BJJ community) plays a major role in training.

I dropped in here passing through town for work. Super quick and friendly response from the website which was topped by the friendly reception I got in person. An amazing family environment and tough rolls. I've met a lot of cool people in jiu jitsu, this place stands out. I'll be back as soon as I can.
