Services
We opened Cafe Metro in 2015 when my brother, Wenty, thought it would be a good idea to bring an authentic Caribbean experience to the community at large. Once we opened Cafe Metro, it was as if the community was longing for something like this! Not only did they come in for the delicious food of the islands, but also karaoke on Thursday and Saturday nights, birthday celebrations, weddings, anniversaries, and all types of gatherings.
Cooking has been my passion for as far back as I can remember. Growing up on the Caribbean island of Antigua, I was the seventh of eleven siblings, so home-cooked meals were an essential part of our family's life. In those days, we used to cook outdoors on a clay coal-pot. In order to bake, we had to create an oven within the pot.
Tender fish and meats combined with unique spices and garden-fresh herbs are the wonderful qualities of outstanding, Caribbean food. Authentic island cuisine is a delightful fusion of European, African, and Cajun cultures. Its bright, colorful flavors are a true indulgence for all of your senses. Choose an old favorite, or try something new - and if you need help deciding, please feel free to ask!
Whether you are planning a holiday get-together, special celebration, or just want a break from cooking, our catering service is perfect for any occasion. Enjoy home-cooked dishes that reflect Caribbean traditions and are made with LOVE! Pick-up or delivery, special occasion or mom's night "off" - our catering menu is filled with fresh, delicious choices.

Tried this new restaurant on a whim, and not disappointed. Ordered the Curry Chicken with a side of the Rasta Pasta. The meat was so flavorful, and cooked just right where it fell off the bone. The vegetable sides were fresh and crisp, and the pasta cooked just right.
The cafe is clean and everything seems new, and apart from some wobble in the table, everything looked perfect. The bathroom was spotless. The server, a younger female whose name I unfortunately did not get, was attentive and always smiling.
I was the only customer in the cafe when I arrived, which disappointed me, because I hope

Food is good but service is poor, called ahead and placed my order showed up 20 min later and had to wait another 30 mins and this is a consistent problem with this place so much so that I wont bother coming back. They have a menu but never have half the items they advertise and they keep you waiting forever while the people at the register play with phones and chat with each other, you have to ask them to check on your food and they get annoyed cause you interrupted them.

I ordered food from Cafe Metro last night through Uber eats. Let me premise this by saying I had been fasting all day due to Ramadan, and my taste buds were on high alert and very sensitive. I ordered the curry conch special, and the fried snapper with a side of Mac and cheese.
Shortly after my order I received a voice note from a very pleasant young lady indicating that they were out of curry conch. While I was very appreciative that they notified me so quickly, I'm not going to lie, I was really disappointed. I wish they had updated their Uber eats menu. Even after my order the curry conch

This place is charming and intimate. They have karaoke on Saturday night, which is a lot of fun. It's a BYOB establishment and the food is "delicious ". The flavors are authentic Caribbean, served nice and hot (temp). I thought the new Golden Crust On teaneck road was going to put them out, but this food is better. I bought the oxtails lunch special and it was very good quantity and filling, I had the curry chicken as well and it is delicious too. I don't know the cook but "keep up the good work " I highly recommend them.

ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA 🇦🇬
Eat the World NYC review:
A combination of breakfast, burgers, pan-southern and pan-Caribbean cuisine makes up most of the menu here at Cafe Metro to make sure a net is cast wide enough to stay in business. But make a point to come here from Friday to Sunday when some special Antiguan fare is available from the home country of the chef and owner. This ducana with saltfish is a unique flavor combination, but they also have fungi, fish soup, and curry conch.

My sister Solange and I are never disappointed whenever we dine at this family-owned restaurant. The food is served at the right temperature and presented in an appetizing way. You can't expect to 'grab a quick bite' once you order, as each dish is meticulously prepared...you can't rush quality!
Cafe Metro is my "go to" restaurant when I yearn for good Caribbean food!! Bernadine and family are all very hospitable and nice! A perfect way to want to experience a meal and to return!

Server and place was nice.. that was about it. A bit pricey and the food isnt great. Every time I asked for something it was "oh we dont have that..." at least 3 times! no wonder it was empty. Theres not even much of a selection to begin with.....Plus, they advertise karaoke, band, etc for some nights, & theres none of that. I wish i could take back those calories.. and it gave me a bad stomach!!
