My first wedding of the season and I woke up to a snowy March morning. No one could have ever guessed that most of the country would soon be under quarantine - and I know Elizabeth, Sam and their families are so grateful that the event went on as planned early last month.
It was my first time shooting a wedding at the Old Capitol Museum in Iowa City and it did not disappoint - great interiors and architecture - and some classic Iowa City outdoor shots (a wedding party that was game to stand outside in some chilly weather!)

Our philosophy when photographing children is to let kids be kids. Whether on-location, or in our studio at our studio, we strive to capture the essence and personality of the child. Our time with our kids when they are small is so precious, and preserving those moments is so important. It wasn't until the first few seconds of our own child's life that we truly understood the wonder and beauty that is a child.
Our approach to family lifestyle photography is twofold-part action and part style. Small Wonders loves photographing families at play, and we welcome the opportunity to go on location with you to make memories of a special day. Artistically, though, we also know the value of a beautiful studio image with just the right lighting at atmosphere.
Small Wonders' approach to photography of high school seniors is artistic and imaginative. From high fashion studio photography, to natural outdoor settings, we create timeless photos that redefine "cool." We understand what a special time this is for young people and our goal is to capture the essence of the individual.
It's about following you through your wedding day and capturing the moments as they unfold. It's about showing the emotion of the day in "real time" instead of posed images. And it's about the PEOPLE. The emotion between the bride and groom. The joy of the guests; the pride and happiness of the parents.
Before founding Small Wonders, we both had years of professional experience in commercial photography and advertising. Our relationships in the Quad City business community have enabled us to continue this side of our photography business. We welcome the opportunity to become involved in community projects and continue to enjoy flexing our creative muscles in the advertising arena.
