St. Matthew's Preschool has served Snellville, and the surrounding community for over 30 years. We have expanded our program to meet the needs of the community we serve. Our Programs include: Toddlers, Twos, Threes, Fours, and Kindergarten. Every one of our teachers is a mom, so the loving care of your child is in the hands of a parent like you.
Almost all our staff members are parents of St. Matthew's "graduates" or have a child currently enrolled here. We have a vested interest in making sure the teaching at St. Matthew's is top-notch. In addition to having "hands-on" parenting experience, our teachers also complete 10 hours of continuing education training per school year, to stay up-to-date on the newest ideas and trends.

Services
Toddlers meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays or Wednesday and Friday each week. To enroll in our Toddler class, your child must be 12 months old and walking. Enrollment in this class is limited to 8 children (two teachers) to ensure that your child gets maximum attention. Two-year-olds attend class two or three days a week.
Three-year-olds attend either three or five days a week. Classes meet Monday/Wednesday/Friday or Monday through Friday. Enrollment in our Threes classes is limited to twelve children (with two teachers) to ensure that your child gets maximum attention and care. Our Threes curriculum focuses on the following areas: language development, cognitive abilities, social/emotional development, fine and gross motor skills, and creativity.
Our Fours curriculum focuses on the following areas: language development, cognitive abilities, social/emotional development, fine and gross motor skills, and creativity. As part of their language development, we encourage our four-year-olds to have a sense of humor. We look for opportunities to laugh with them, by reading funny books and making up silly rhymes.
Most children who attend St. Matthew's Kindergarten will go on to attend Gwinnett County Schools. For that reason, St. Matthew's Kindergarten follows the Gwinnett County's Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS), to ensure our children are ready for 1st grade. In addition to studying the 7 areas of learning, children will have the opportunity to have at least 20 minutes of physical activity each day, if weather permits.
St Matthew's Preschool and Kindergarten is a nonprofit, and we work hard to control tuition costs while providing a rich experience for our children. In addition, we provide scholarships for families who couldn't otherwise afford preschool, and support our teachers' professional development. To do this, we rely on donations and the contributions of our volunteers.

My daughter loves her school, she has learned and flourished as a rising pre-K student. The mix of teachers, visitors and hands on learning has made her well rounded. I would like to see more days trips, outside learning activities such as planting, cooking or building. These children are really smart and capable of a lot more.

St. Mathew's is a phenomenal school that truly cares about the kids. My husband and I were in search of a school for our then 3 year old. We were new to the Snellville area and looked into a few other schools. As soon as we met the director and tour the school, my husband knew right then this was the school for our son. As we were leaving, he told me not to waste anymore time with visiting the next two schools because this was it. He was absolutely correct. The teachers and staff are the absolute best. They loved and treated our son like their own. He has learned so much and is so well pre-pared

After our preschool went under about 3 weeks before this school year, my wife and I were scrambling to find another preschool program for our daughter. We looked at many different programs, but in the end, we decided that St. Matthew's was the best environment for our child.
They take the safety/well-being of the children they care of very seriously and it shows each and every day I drop her off and pick her up.
We were sad that the program that we had our other two children in is no longer in operation, but we're glad we found a home at St. Matthew's!

Almost six years ago, my husband and I enrolled our oldest child at St. Matthew’s Preschool and Kindergarten. She was only 3 and it was the first time she was away from home for a significant amount of time. Enrolling her was the best decision we could have made for our family. Not only did our oldest daughter stay at St. Matthew’s through Kindergarten, but her sister and her brother have also attended. My son is our youngest and I’m honestly sad that he’ll be in elementary school next year because we’ll miss this school and the staff so much. They truly feel like a family to us after

All staff members are very friendly and attentive. The class teachers take time routinely to talk to you one one one about your child's progress. Our 3 kids have all had the pleasure of learning, playing and growing at this preschool and kindergarten. They love it and so do we. New in the Snellville area or looking for a change for the better? Give St Matt's a try, you will be glad you did.

My four year old daughter has been attending since the fall of this year, and her brother will join her there next year. The teachers have taken such good care of her, shown patience, and really responded to her needs. One of the teachers even called me during the evening when my daughter had started to not feel well that day at school. She is always singing and telling me about the planets, and I'll never forget the day she wrote her name and surprised me. It's a wonderful community, and I am happy my daughter, and soon my son, will get the chance to be part of it.

We LOVE St. Matthews Preschool! My son has been going for 3 years and we plan on attending through Kindergarten. The small class sizes and excellent teachers make this one of the best preschools in the area. At four, my son surprises me by singing the months of the year in French, telling me about planets, and is even starting to read some site words. His teachers have balanced his education with fun and developed a love of learning so important for his future. I can't recommend it enough!
