Services
On your first visit to our office, you can expect to be greeted warmly by our caring staff. You will be asked to fill out some paperwork or you can pre-complete the paper work and bring it in with you. The paper work will help us learn more about you. Then you will meet doctor. You will then have an initial consultation and examination with the doctor.

Chiropractic Orthopedists are a different kind of chiropractor. They have ventured beyond standard chiropractic studies and must complete a 3 year post-graduate program. Following their extensive training they must pass a demanding examination process leading to Diplomate status of the American Board of Chiropractic Orthopedists (DABCO) or Academy of Chiropractic Orthopedists (DACO).
Do we accept Insurance? Yes, Dr. Lawson provides for United Healthcare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Aetna, Humana, Medicare, Seton healthcare and more. Dr. Lawson and Dr. Shrogin are wonderful chiropractors. They spend ample time with patients, and the results for me (and my mom a few years back) were immediately positive. Both docs have great "table-side" manners (it's not really a bed :), and Sara, does wonderful stretching/massage to assist in the treatment process. Great, trustworthy office.

Love this office. Both Dr Paul and Dr Lawson go the extra mile to make sure they try to resolve all your issues. They really listen and focus on what you say. They have helped me with back pain, vertigo, tennis elbow and plantar fasciitis. They use many different modalities to address pain and imbalance not just adjustments. I highly recommend them.

I’ve been with middle upper back pain for 5 years due to my first delivery. After my second daughter was born I told to my self, “ok it is time to do something”. After the first visit I felt that the intensity of my pain was diminished by 50%. Now I’m in my 6 visit and I don’t feel that burning sensation anymore and no more discomfort every day as used to be. Dr. Lawson is master of his craft. He is extremely knowledgeable, intuitive, and experienced. The improvement I feel after an adjustment is invaluable. As a performer and someone who travels a lot for work, I make sure I get in a visit to this office regularly, and always feel better when I leave. The staff are nice and the place always smells calming. It is one my Austin staples now.

I can’t say enough amazing things about Dr. Lawson. Let me start by saying that I am a dentist and was suffering from a pretty bad case of muscle spasm in my back. My massage therapist recommended I see Dr. Lawson and soon after I saw her on a Sunday afternoon I contacted Dr. Lawson’s office via their website. To my surprise Dr. Lawson personally responded shortly afterwards and offered to see me first thing Monday morning. I've been getting adjusted for as long as I can remember And when my chiropractor retired! I was at a loss I didn't want to just go see anyone so I went 9 plus months with out any chiropractic care! By the grace of the universe I met Paul and finally after half a year or more of no care I got adjusted. His work is professional and truly catered to your needs. I was referred to Dr Lawson for treatment of lower back pain resulting from curvature of my spine. I was in agony every time I stood up. Having never been to a chiropractor, I was a bit nervous. Everyone I dealt with at Dr Lawson's practice was amazing- kind, professional and competent. Environment was clean and attractive with up to date equipment. After several weeks of treatment, I am a "new woman". I cannot say enough good things about my treatments. I will continue to see Dr Lawson periodically and do the exercise regime he provided in order to maintain my progress.

I received a series of treatments from Dr. Paul Shrogin and couldn't be more pleased with the results. He was informative, thorough, and included deep massage and adjustments to help me loosen up very tight upper neck/back muscles. He provided several suggestions for ergonomic changes (I sit in front of a PC all day), in addition to at-home stretches/exercises, which are working wonderfully. I would recommend Paul Shrogin to anyone, and will be back (when needed) to see him again.

Giving two stars because even though Dr. Lawson was amazing and very informative with his work, the receptionist ladies at the front are just absolutely horrible. They are rude, sarcastic and very unwelcoming at the least. When you're already uncomfortable due to pain, the last thing you want to deal with are more than unfriendly attitudes upon arrival. I am hopeful to be able to return to Dr. Lawson once these ladies are replaced.

Great chiropractic office! Caring, extremely knowledgeable, and really want to help you out. There is also a wonderful massage therapist in this office. There is an elevator in case stairs scream at you and restrooms outside the office within the building. Very convenient and extremely clean. I always leave the office with a smile or maybe even a laugh. Thank goodness I was sent to this office!

I have always been apprehensive about going to the chiropractor as I have had some negative experiences with them in the past. Dr Lawson has changed this for me for sure, within the first few monies of our conversation I felt completely at ease and very confident in him and his ability to help me. Dr. Lawson, his massage therapist Shannon, and the girls at the front desk are all so wonderful!!! I can't say enough good things about them all! I had an old injury flare up and have had a few sessions with Dr. Lawson and I feel SO much better! He really knows what he's talking about and takes the time to address your specific problems and solutions. I actually decided to cancel an appointment after scheduling one simply because I figure if they can't hire someone good at customer service at the front desk, they aren't likely to give good service at the professional level either.

In December, I had the pleasure of a session with Dr. Lawson while staying in Marfa, Texas, where he is trying to develop a side practice to his main one in Austin.
My upper left rhomboid was bothering me (desk posture, probably), as well as my IT band.
I have rarely met so patient, friendly, knowledgeable, and concerned a human being.
If I lived in Marfa or Austin, I would instantly become a regular client. A pity I don't.
Despite this, he instructed me on stretches to perform at home, and offered continuing care; I could email him with any questions I had. He really went above and beyond

I went to Lawson Chiropractic after years of low back pain and shoulder/neck pain accompanied by tension headaches. I was in extreme pain and the office staff were able to get me into see Dr. Maxwell the same day I called. During my first appointment, Dr. Maxwell gave me a very thorough exam and consultation. He identified my areas of weakness and formulated a plan to help me. I was a little leery of chiropractors to start and was sure he was going to need an x-ray and other expensive diagnostics. Not so. As good as it gets! I have been living with a bulged disc for 17 years now and for anyone that knows what that is it can be a living hell. I've tried injections and other forms of treatments to no avail. As soon as the drugs wore off I was back to being my old miserable self. Dr. Lawson is fantastic! I have been to numerous (over 10) chiropractors over the years and he is the best I've ever been to. I was having some very bad shoulder and neck pain and had been to several chiropractors over a one year period attempting to alleviate or eliminate the pain and no one seemed to be able to adjust my "brick" of a neck. I love Dr. Lawson! My entire family uses Dr. Lawson as our chiropractor. The man knows what he's doing, and I bet he knows all of his patients by name. I went in there recently and he asked me how my employer had been treating me.. It was awesome because I haven't seen him in over a year! He always seems to know exactly what to do to make the pain go away. The masseuse he hires is amazing, worth every penny. Even if your insurance isn't paying for massages, I'd encourage you to buy one of this massage packages.

I just wanted to say how much I appreciate the level of service and professionalism I receive with Dr. Lawson & his staff. I recently had a bicycle injury, I called and was seen right away. Dr. Lawson was very thorough yet gentle making sure my neck could handle an adjustment. I walked out of his office feeling so much better than when I arrived. Best damn chiropractic office in Texas! Dr. Lawson is one of the most approachable, honest, insightful and level headed practitioners - of any metrical field - I've ever delt with! Pretty outstanding fellow. He'll give you the treatment you need with defined goals and measurable improvements. None of this perpetual life long care mumbo jumbo! Amazing! I had a pinched nerve in my lower back. I could not stand or walk without a lot of pain. Before going to Dr. Lawson, I had taken steroids orally for a week, gone to 3 acupuncture sessions, taken a lot of Vicodin, and gone to physical therapy. None of these treatments helped. After one visit to Dr. Lawson, my back was significantly better. I was able to sleep through the night and walk without assistance. He and his staff were very friendly and attentive to my needs. I highly recommend Dr. Lawson and his clinic.

I received a gift certificate from a dear friend for a massage at Lawson Chiropractic on Brodie in S. Austin. The office was nice but they did require that I fill out all the forms to become a patient before I could get my massage. When I inquired as to why, Dr. Lawson came to the desk and told me I could leave if I didn't want to have the massage. A little over the top for a simple question.
