Services
The first funeral service provider in Pike County, known then as an Undertaking Business, was founded and opened in Beaver in 1887 by Benjamin Franklin West. Mr. West operated the business, offering services such as custom built caskets and a horse drawn hearse, for nine years. In 1896, Mr. West sold his business to Valentine Gableman.
We take great pride in caring for our families we serve and will work tirelessly to provide a beautiful and lasting tribute to honor your loved one. In creating such a tribute, we off an online memorial that can be shared with family and friends. This online memorial, along with a sample of our other offerings is listed below.
When death occurs, an onset of emotions can often take place. These emotions can cause us to feel confused with uncertainty of what lies ahead, as well as key decisions that will need to be made. Our staff is very familiar with the funeral arrangement process and can give valuable information and guidance when arranging services.
Pre-planning your funeral arrangements can be very beneficial to both you, and your family. By planning your arrangements in advance, you relieve family members of the decisions that need to be made when death occurs. Emotional stress can be very overwhelming when faced with the loss of a loved one, and it can be straining to plan funeral arrangements while grieving.
Meaningful memorialization of a loved one's passing can transform, heal, and comfort us. It highlights our loved ones' sacrifices, reminds us of the things that they value, and inspires us with their life stories. Have the Talk of a Lifetime, a program created by The Funeral and Memorial Information Council, was designed to help families have meaningful conversations about the things that matter most in their lives.
