I'm so sorry to say that my experience with the dealership ended badly. At the beginning, coming from Hyundai, the experience was what I expected. More upscale with better service. Leasing my GTI (totally overpriced car) went smoothly with friendly service. That was 3 year ago. By the 2nd year the place went straight down hill. Service went from professional to a bunch of high schoolers running around frantic. The staff had attitudes and any request was met with "the next time you come in we'll take care of it.." (never to be). When my lease ended I could not get questions answered

This place is awful! i live in watermill but after going there i ended up driving all the way to Sayville to buy my new VW. first of all the man in front office (right side when you come in) treated me like i was an idiot - macho mysogynist! i wanted to test a car and he said to come back as they are too busy but there was noone around and there was a man being helped. disgusting place!

This is regarding the SERVICE DEPARTMENT:
I purchased my VW Jetta there a few years ago. Not a single complaint. Car has been running without issue until my entire lock system failed to the point my dog was locked in a running car without ability to get in (locksmith needed to get in). Unfortunate but is what it is...
Called service department to have far fixed and repeatedly told "that's ridiculous" and "ma'am are you sure your key doesn't work?" but once car examined at the Service department, technicians experienced what I described there was a labor intensive

I recently bought a Subaru here and had a great experience, unlike in other dealerships (to be fair, not all on the island) where I'd been confronted with a lot of aggressive & annoying sales tactics. This was nothing like that. My salesperson was Ed McGarr and he was extremely low-key and patient with me, even though I asked a lot of questions--I really liked the fact that he had a background in fraud prevention and was comfortable with me checking out some of the numbers. (He was also willing to help with some special circumstances my husband & I had.) Everything just went incredibly

Purchased a pre owned forester here. Linda Manning was the sales person assisting me through the process. After decades of toyota scion ownership, I test drove several Subaru models. Linda was patient and kind. Her demeanor is professional, knowledgeable, and helpful, going above and beyond to ensure I had what I needed. Seek her out if you want a sales person who is no pressure yet attentive. She made the experience fun and was a joy to work with.

My husband and I purchased our 2014 Forester here in August 2013. It was generally a moderate experience as I did not have high expectations... we were happy with the price, transaction, and quality of the vehicle (got the only manual transmission on the lot at that time), but ultimately, my feeling walking away from this place was: misogynistic. I drive a Volkswagen CC and love it! However I had issues with my engine that needed immediate attention. I chose to go to Donaldsons in Sayville, big mistake. They tried to replace parts I found out that I didn't need. The parts came out to $500. But the labor came to $3000! My mind was blown because my warranty just ran out. I didn't know what to do. A friend recommended I try Riverhead Bay. I was already at odds with Donaldsons, I didn't expect much from Bay. However I talked to a guy named Ed that was very nice. I did not buy my VW here but I have taken it in for scheduled maintenance twice and the experience was seamless. Once I had an appointment and the other time they took me as a walk in. The work was done quickly and I wasn't upsold on any unnecessary services or anything. Easy, quick and simple. I ask for nothing more than this from a car dealership.

I purchased a new VW Golf in 2002 in South Jersey, but the Riverhead Volkswagen was to be our official service station. The head people there were very schemey, and when I asked them to do our inspection, they found enough nonsense to fix in order to pass our relatively new car to charge us $6,000+! I couldn't believe it. After taking it to our local inspection station, they charged me $35 and I went on my way. We still drive the Golf as our second car.
