At Longmeadow Montessori, we believe that Montessori is more than just a method of education; it is a philosophy of life that we honor in our classroom. We believe the Montessori principles support a child's fullest development, independence, initiative, creativity, self-discipline, and confidence.
We provide a safe, accepting environment where children are continually encouraged to make their own choices and to learn from their mistakes. Children are empowered to make independent choices, and subsequently develop the confidence to do it themselves. They are encouraged to finish what they start by working at their own non-competitive pace; to learn how to work independently and with others; and to develop patience and respect.

Services
Guided by the philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori, we are committed to nurturing each child's sense of wonder, fostering respect for cultural diversity and environmental awareness, and encouraging both academic and character development. We teach according to each child's needs and interests through "hands-on" activities that employ all senses.
Maria Montessori believed that a child's environment is essential to their development and it is the Montessori Teacher's responsibility to "prepare" the classroom with materials and lessons that help children learn and grow to their fullest potential. The staff of Longmeadow Montessori is comprised of dedicated teachers, some of whom have over 20 years of service to our students.
This is the first step in our admission process. We invite you to tour the school, our classrooms, and learn more about the Montessori Method. This meeting is typically about 30 minutes long. Applications are accepted year round and should be mailed directly to the school or hand delivered. Applications for new students are considered in accordance with the date received.
We invite you to take the time to get to know Longmeadow Montessori and to witness firsthand the remarkable educational journey that we offer to children. During the tour, you will have the opportunity to experience the classrooms and meet with the Head of School who will answer any questions you may have.
Longmeadow Montessori is a licensed, NAEYC accredited, QRIS Level 3 program for children 2 years 9 months to 6 years of age. Just as the name suggests, this foundational element of the Montessori curriculum has its roots in the practical dealings of our everyday lives. As adults, we may no longer find satisfaction in dusting our shelves or folding laundry, but to children these tasks are exciting to master.

Longmeadow Montessori is a wonderful preschool - both of my children attended and had the most nurturing learning experience. They built independence, learned valuable foundational skills, and were both fully prepared for kindergarten and beyond. We are grateful to LMI for the amazing talent of their teachers and the incredible memories and the strong connections we made with other families that continue to this day.
