I'm going to go ahead and bare my soul to you right here in the beginning - it's the least I can do considering you may be inviting me in to document you at your most vulnerable. And frankly, in order to decide if we are a good fit, it's important for you to know WHO I AM as a wedding photographer (and human!) and who I am not.
Like so many, 2020 brought me to my knees. I ached for the sick and dying, the jobless, for small businesses, essential workers, for black lives. I watched my industry crumble. I feared for my family. I feared for our country. I questioned everything - my career, my future, my art. The fog is still lifting, but there are a few things that have become alarmingly clear: I love creating images of people.

Q: What do I do with my hands? A: THIS is a valid question. In an awkward contest, I would win. I have been accused on occasion of being slightly offbeat (the fun kind). Your discomfort with a camera being pointed at you is 100% appropriate and 100% okay. You are not at all expected to be a model. I will do everything in my power to make you comfortable and to interact with you in a way that will elicit authentic expressions and connections.
Let me start by saying in no way am I shaming large weddings. I had 200 guests at my own and having everyone under one roof to celebrate was one of the most special things I've experienced in all of my 35 years of life. That being said, I am also a self-employed homeowner with a bottomless pit of student loan debt - thank you, Syracuse University - and I sometimes shudder at the thought of the money we spent in one magical, drunken night.

If you're looking for a sign to elope with just a photographer and officiant, this is it. I couldn't have found anyone better to capture and officiate our wedding ceremony. Jamie and her husband are awesome. The pictures are beautiful but more importantly the day was perfect, stress free, not awkward (honestly was a little worried sharing one of our biggest days with strangers) and just fun. Jamie also gave great recommendations throughout the process and picked a perfect location in the lake placid area for the setting. Can't thank them enough for being part of our day!

Jamie took amazing pictures and was so down to earth and kind to work with! We were supposed to have her photograph our wedding but COVID happened so we came back this fall to have her take couples pictures of us and we are so happy we did! Can't recommend her enough. Due wear photography is EXTREMELY TALENTED! I had them do my wedding ceremony last year and the photos came out phenomenal. We used them again for our reception because they did such a fantastic job. I HIGHLY recommend them and believe they are the best wedding photographers you'll find and they have been EXTREMELY supportive during covid and all the wedding stress. Do not even know where to start! Do yourselves a favor and hire Jamie from Due West Photography - you will not regret it. Jamie captured the most beautiful pictures of our special day in Keene, NY. We told her what meant the most to us that day and she was ON POINT capturing the entire day from getting ready to sunset. If you want a photographer who truly cares about her clients and their business, Due West is the right company. Jamie is AMAZING at taking pictures. We loved that she gave us ideas on how to pose for our pictures. She captured the most Important pictures of a our day for us. Although we eloped this year, next year we’re the opportunity to have a big cocktail reception and use her again! I can’t wait!

Ryan and Jamie are so personable and easy-going which helped to make our photos comfortable and natural. You hardly knew that they were around capturing so many precious moments. I am so happy that my husband and I used Due West for our wedding. Starting with the engagement shoot, they were fantastic! Jamie helped us pick a location and walked us through the entire shoot. Leading up to the wedding, Jamie and Ryan were so helpful if we had any questions (which we had a million of). On the day of, they were calm and organized which was calming to everyone else! Their photos were amazing quality, we got so many compliments on them! Their turnaround time was also very quick! Overall amazing photographers that I would recommend to anyone!!

Using Due West Photography for our wedding photos was an amazing choice, we were so lucky to find them! Jamie & Ryan were amazing to work with - from engagement session to wedding. They both made us feel so comfortable during pictures and captured our wedding day in the exact vision we desired...lots of candids, amazing family & friend shots, and capturing the whole scene. I can't say enough about Jamie/Due West. They were professional, relaxed (and relaxing), funny, and their work is absolutely brilliant. My now husband and I are terrible photo subjects. We're awkward, kind of shy, and just hate being the center of pictures. I thought we were doomed, until we met Jamie for our engagement photos. She took a couple of awkward people and a drizzly, gross day and turned it into pure magic. On the wedding day, Jamie was completely calm, funny, and organized. She knew the wedding timeline and was able to guide us through our pictures in a way that would get the best variety

We hired Jamie of Due West photography for our small, 18 person wedding in the Lake Placid area. From the beginning, Jamie was so helpful in answering any questions we had about photography, recommending local vendors and things to do, and worked with us to create the perfect timeline for our day. On the day of the wedding, Jamie arrived on time with a calm and friendly demeanor. She made sure to get all the photos that were important to us but she never made us feel rushed. My husband and I had a post-wedding photo shoot up in Lake Placid with Jamie, and she was absolutely wonderful! She answered all of my questions on the phone and email before we met, and the day of the photo shoot could not have been better. Jamie was accommodating, helpful, friendly, professional, and captured the "essence" of my husband and I. The places she took us for the photos were absolutely stunning, and we could not be happier with how they turned out. I would recommend Jaimie to anyone looking to have fun taking some amazing photos.
