Services
Our reputation, our strength, comes from decades of follow-through and trusted relationships within our customer network. We continue to listen, understand and respond to our clients' true needs to deliver not just the best design, but the right decisions for the project parameters. We have not and never will succeed alone.
Dave Foster and Peter Hentschel founded Tecton Architects in 1979 with a commitment to building relationships - forging long-term bonds with our clients, developing trust with our project teams and supporting our staff. That philosophy has guided our journey over the ensuing decades, through acquisitions and leadership transitions, and established Tecton as the fourth largest architecture firm in Connecticut.
Everyone involved in a project contributes by bringing ideas to the drawing table. To that end, we begin each project with a stakeholder kick-off, designed to nurture creativity and engagement. From doodles on a scratch pad to intensive client sessions, we draw inspiration from each user, partner and decision-maker.
Tecton provided master planning services and conceptual designs for Asnuntuck Community College, with the goal of accommodating space programming needs, addressing significant deferred maintenance and updating mechanical systems. The subsequent project created a new Tower Lobby and Student Center to serve as the new "front door" of the College.
Tecton designed renovations and additions to the existing Weekapaug Golf Club, creating a beautiful modern facility for sport, dining, and relaxation. Completed for Gatto Development, this development project exemplifies the ideal mixed-use, smart growth plan. Since the development was to be located on vacant property in the heart of downtown New Canaan, Tecton needed to develop a strategic vision for the dense urban fabric.
