Many patients want to go to a Chiropractor but are afraid of the manual manipulation. In our office we use an instrument approach approach to patient care. Dr. Murphy will adjust your spine while you are in different positions. It may be standing, sitting, lying down or could be whatever position causes you pain.

He uses an Arthrostim instrument to adjust the area indicated. The Arthrostim ( pictured below) delivers gentle tapping to reduce the stress in the area. A case study published in the 2020 issue of The Journal of Physical Therapy Science documented the improvement of a patient under chiropractic care who had been suffering with severe and chronic dizziness, neck pain and headaches.

Dr. Mike Murphy has been in Chiropractic practice for 49 years. He graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa as a 4th generation Chiropractor. After two years in the army, Dr. Murphy started his first Chiropractic practice in Louisiana, Missouri and in 1982 he moved his practice to Hannibal.
We have many different types of procedures to help you with your problem and reduce your pain. Our Chiropractic adjustments are given with an electric instrument called an Arthrostim. The Arthrostim delivers high speed, low force rapid thrusts to the area being treated. This stimulation activates a neurological response in the brain to reduce the stress in the area treated.
In simplest terms, a subluxation a.k.a. Vertebral Subluxation) is when one or more of the bones of your spine (vertebrae) move out of position and create pressure on, or irritate spinal nerves. Spinal nerves are the nerves that come out from between each of the bones in your spine. This pressure or irritation on the nerves then causes those nerves to malfunction and interfere with the signals traveling over those nerves.
This is a representation of one type of subluxation. A subluxation, as defined by the Association of Chiropractic Colleges is: "A subluxation is a complex of functional and/or structural and/or pathological articular changes that compromise neural integrity and may influence organ system function and general health."

I have had lower back pain for about 8 years, and shoulder pain for 3. I have never seen a chiropractor before this year, but my pain was getting so bad that I decided to go see Dr. Murphy as he was highly recommended by one of my co workers. My first appointment was on Jan. 27th, my back was tensed up and i was starting to see a loss of range of motion in my shoulder. I left that appointment feeling 10 years younger, and since then I have had 2 more appointments and each time I see an increase in my range of motion as well as a significant decrease in pain. I have gotten to the point where I don

Almost two years ago I injured both of my hands and forearms working on the ice delivery truck. I was unable to grip/squeeze things, pull upwards or push down onto anything at all without immense pain. Needless to say, I couldn't do push ups, pull ups, or ANY arm exercises for that matter. It felt like my arms and hands were swelling, but they appeared not to swell at all.
I was first diagnosed with just "tendinitis" and was told to "rest as much as possible and ice/take ibuprofen." Well, tendinitis doesn't last more than a month normally. So basically I was stuck with injured arms and extremely
