Teachable Moments
We would like to thank all our parents for their support and cooperation. At Teachable Moments Child Development Center, our mission is to learn with play and to enrich the development of children from a young age while focusing on education. We believe children begin to learn and absorb even as infants.

We start with colors and shapes and progress to numbers and letters, then introduce language and mathematical concepts along with computers at a later age, all while playing games. We serve the greater Jacksonville NC area and look forward to meeting you and your child! Our goal is to prepare every child for school in a loving and nurturing manner, with safety in mind.
Services
Teachable Moments strives to enrich the life of every single student. We offer more than just child care. Our day care center offers a safe and enriching environment where your child is free to be him or herself. At our child development center, we offer programs for children of all ages. Whether your child is an infant or you're looking for an after school program, the friendly professionals at Teachable Moments are ready to help.
At Teachable Moments Child Development Center, we strive to create a setting where your child feels comfortable and at ease. For infants and toddlers, it's important that they feel at home in the place where they receive child care, and we work to provide them with the safe and stimulating environment that they need to promote their healthy growth and development.
At ages two and three, your child is quickly learning and developing, growing into the person he or she will be. At this time, self-esteem and resilience are becoming a part of your child's being and it needs to be carefully nourished. At Teachable Moments Child Development Center, we're here to help guide your child through this important developmental period.
When you're looking for pre-k child care, you need to find the program that's right for your child. You want them to be prepared for Kindergarten as well as the academic years that lay ahead of them. At Teachable Moments Child Development Center, we provide a solid foundation on with your child can build upon throughout his or her life.
After a full and productive day at school, the children are ready for relaxation and fun. Here at Teachable Moments Child Development Center, we offer just that! Our after school program provides children with a happy, healthy, and engaging experience. The experiences and curriculum that guide this program are tuned to the developmental needs of children ages 6-12.

Would give a zero stars if I could. They provide incorrect information, have people posing as directors when they aren’t, teachers are allowed to speak to parents any type of way, your child’s clothes will be put on other kids and they will make it seem like it’s your fault that happened, ms. Linda is the worst she lied from day one starting with our weekly rate - if we knew we would have as much stress and headaches we would’ve never sent our child. After telling some coworkers about the experience they mentioned other bad things about the center and affiliates so apparently it’s not

We have had our kids attend for two years. My son was bullied and became the scapegoat. Kids ganged up on him and beat him up and administration blamed my son. Another incident occurred where the state came to investigate and their response to me was to find new care. I did so, when I told them it will be our last week I was met with “that’s probably best”. When I came back a week later for a booster seat I forgot, they told me I owed them for two weeks because I didn’t follow the contract. I said you suggested I leave and their response was “there wasn’t an incident there’s no evidence

I did not enroll my child here and frankly I wouldn’t.
I lost all interest in this facility from a phone call.
I simply called to inquire about the services they provide and age group they provided care for.
I heard it’s really hard to find care so I’m trying to get a head start.
The woman who answered the phone was not friendly at all was quite rude and did not answer any of my questions regarding the facility. She ignored all my questions and disgustingly replied that they were not taking anymore children. She didn’t ask my name, if or when I might need care. She simply was not interested

I gave two stars because it use to be great but dramatically changed when they switched directors. My son has behavior issues and I was completely transparent about this prior to them deciding if he could enroll. They said no problem, we will work with him. Well he had his moments but the original director was wonderful and they legit tried working with him. Well a new director came along and she really has triggered him. She threatened his enrollment if I did not bring in an IEP which is illegal(yes I have discussed this with a lawyer and attempted to get contact with he corporate office about

This place is a joke. The food is insufficient cold and from a can. The classrooms are falling apart. The owner doesn’t care about staff and children safety considering 3 teachers are out of work with possible covid right now, And one positive. The staff is clearly overworked and underpaid. Take your money elsewhere your kids deserve better.

They do not listen to the parents and or caregiver requests. Communication in a timely effective manner is non existent or only on their terms.
Non English speaking teachers can not teach solely English learning children/toddlers to communicate with anyone but their teacher which results in child reverting in time spent away from school.
Requests for assistance continuing with potty training on a almost 100% already potty trained children is disregarded and the child stuck in a pull up all day. Child not taken to toilet regularly once pull ups no longer used, so therefore child wets. The clothes

I signed my daughter up for the before and after school program at Teachable Moments. There was an incident where my daughter’s teacher accidentally put her on the bus she rides in the morning instead of the Teachable Moments van, so my 6 year old ended up having to walk all the way home from her bus stop to our house and both me and my husband were at work. I don’t put all the blame on Teachable Moments, but they handled the situation extremely poorly. When I called that day asking why my daughter wasn’t picked up and at their facility, everyone seemed confused on where she was at. I even

I have all four of my children enrolled. My youngest started at 6 weeks I was extremely nervous to leave her so young, but Dawn and Sue made me feel very comfortable they take all my concerns and request seriously. My children are always clean when I pick them up. Ms. Tangee and Ms. Dee are wonderful as well in with my two year old. Ms. Catherine and Ms. Deloris in the front office is very attentive and resourceful. This center even made special accommodations to pick my school age children up from school in the afternoons !

I informed my daughters teacher that she was getting over a ear infection, and didn’t need to be outside in the wind. Not only did they take her outside against my wishes they also took her outside without her hat and coat. When I called to speak to the office manager the next morning, I was rudely hung up on and told I’m not going to argue with you. Needless to say my daughter no longer attends this daycare, although the director apologized for the issue I still didn’t feel comfortable taking her back, simply because I didn’t feel as if they have the kids best interest at heart.
