We have updated the lower level lakeside rooms to include new bedding, lighting, hair dryers, wall mounted flat screen TVs, artwork, and more. The Great Northern Hotel is a great place to escape to, San Domingo provides a relaxing atmosphere whether you are sitting on the pier listening to the loons, drifting in our paddle boats, or fishing from a boat.

Our newly remodeled Deluxe Suite includes a separate living room, bathroom, closet/dressing room and whirlpool tub. It is very roomy and can accommodate all your vacation gear. We now offer a very spacious and comfortable Luxury suite with a separate sitting area and whirlpool tub.

The Wolf's Den has assembled the best burger and sandwich menu in the area! We will be featuring fresh, non-frozen, hand pressed hamburger patties, some amazing sandwiches, a full array of appetizers, salads, homemade soups, chicken wings and more! This is a great bar to visit. The food is not one's typical bar fare. There is a wide selection of dinners, appetizers and more!
Of special note, ask for their hottest wings and prepare yourself to cry.
Erik the owner is a nice man who has hired a wonderful staff!

The food was really good and the outdoor seating was wonderful. The service was a little bit lacking though. They seemed really into serving the locals/regulars but our group came in and though we did get waited on the staff were definitely a bit cold toward us.

Staff were amazing. We had 21 people. They accomodated us with an early reservation. Wait staff was amazing. Didn't have to ask for anything. She was spot on! Would highly recommend. Food was top notch. Best fish fry I've had.

The omelets, steak hashbrowns with cheese and scrabbled eggs were great, would definitely eat here again! The pregnant bartender was GREAT! (Sorry, didn't catch names) The other AM bartender definitely favored the regulars so it took a bit longer than anticipated to get service, but nonetheless, the food compensated for the lack of service received, which is why we ate here three times during our Honeymoon stay at a resort in Mercer Aug 14-21.

One of the best spots in Mercer to grab some delicious food and cold beers. They have daily food specials, which you can never go wrong with , especially the fish fry Friday's and prime rib Saturdays. Great staff, great seating and always a great time

Stopped in for a drink for my birthday and was disgusted by the amount of people walking around heavily intoxicated with no shoes on. I was informed that the owner was one that had no shoes on in the men's bathroom and the floor was covered in urine. The owner pressured his patrons to drink alcohol out of his softball trophy during the Covid 19 pandemic and if you refused he yelled at you and you called you derogatory names. The owner wife as we were told was belligerent and also verbally accosted my friend as well. I would avoid this as a stop.

I'm giving a five star review based on their pan fried walleye. Probably the best I've ever had. I get to MN and SD where walleye is prevalent and this tops them all. The atmosphere is up north bar inside a hotel. Know where you are going. This is not a table cloth and linen place. The prime rib on Saturdays is pretty good and the prices are decent. The food is way better than you would expect for the location and price.

Restaurant is inside of local hotel, right on lake. They were able to reserve a table for our party of 7. Friday night fish fry was great. Fried shrimp basket was fantastic. Not overly breaded and large, fresh shrimp! Tasty meal, definitely recommend!

Good place to eat friendly's staff and price friendly food. The shaved primer ribs sandwich in the photo below was amazing. The nachos were good beef and chicken. The hot wings are extremely hot do not underestimate them. Crystal was an awesome bartender I'll be smiling and kept drinks full and the bar clean. What a great view of the lake from the bar.

My wife and I stayed at the great northern motel for the weekend during a wedding. This is great! We order the chicken wings in the sweet chili. Also I had a Ruben sandwich. Their fries are also very good. Definitely recommend if you in the mood for some yummy comfort foot. Flavors were spot on as well.

I live in MN (dont judge me) and when im in town, I always eat and drink here. $10, 12oz Ribeye Tuesday is the bomb! Great food, great booze pours....what more you need!?! I think the staff is always on point. Haven't had a bad experience yet.

Joined our family for lunch here over the holiday. I accidentally read the steak sandwich as steak sandwich which is shredded beef. Once it arrived boy was I surprised. I sent it back as it was pink and bloody. It returned and I picked at it and later shared with my family that it was terrible quality and a meat that I would feed our beloved dog. I paid for the onion rings and received five (not sure that was worth it). Our daughters chili tasted burnt and out of a can (what a bummer, great opportunity to have amazing chili in town). My partners wings, were nothing to brag about

The best view in town! Great selection of appetizers. I love the crab cakes. The menu literally has something for everyone. Homemade soups, really good pizzas. The owner is always bringing in entertainment, music, comedians, etc. You cannot beat the view of the lake! Oh and family friendly!

Nice but overlooked spot in Mercer. Pretty lake view and a large menu. Lots of tvs to watch a game. We had the artichoke dip which was tasty and served with warm tortilla chips. Salads were nicely done for the Northwoods - romaine, mushrooms, tomato and garlic croutons. Dinners also a pleasant surprise - bacon wrapped pork and crab cake BLT were both delicious. We'll be back!

Mozzarella sticks and jalapeño poppers were very good. Parmesan wings had what seemed to be homemade sauce which hubby enjoyed. Patty melt was also delicious. Service was typical for a bar that serves food. Stayed at the motel and came back the next night bartender was much better second night.
