Bold brows and beautiful skin have been Mary Stinson's obsession since she was three years old. As a young adult, Mary took her passion and put it into practice, graduating from the Aveda Institute in Seattle with her Aesthetics License in 2006.
After gaining skills and knowledge working in the spa industry and 4 years as a traveling educator, Mary founded Mynx Aesthetik in 2013 and has been providing personalized skincare in Tacoma ever since. Absolutely LOVE this place! Mary is a true professional and caters your experience to your personal needs. I came here for a Brazilian wax, which I've been doing for 10+ years, and it was by far the best experience I've had. From the quality of her wax, comfort of the table and room, and Mary's friendly and open personality, I felt super comfortable and taken care of. Highly recommend!

Had my first waxing appointment with Mary this morning and she was so great! I’ve never gotten a wax before but Mary was very gentle and kind and immediately put me at ease. Absolutely plus-size friendly. She also took the time to explain the products she was using during the ingrown hair treatment and gave me advice on what to use if I didn’t want to purchase those particular products. I’m super happy with the final product and will definitely be coming back - thanks, Mary!

The star rating has nothing to do with their quality or ability-the only thing that prevented me from booking with this salon is the charge for “extra” time. It makes no sense to me to charge the client of the technician cannot complete a lash set in the allotted time. How is that the clients fault??

Just had my first visit with Mary and I am beyond thrilled. She was so informative. I feel like she explained everything thoroughly. I came in thinking I needed a peel and Mary explained to me that was not the case. We made a plan for my skin and I'm very excited for this new journey with her. At the end she even loaded me up with samples and literature to take home!

I had a vagacial done by Melissa hoping to get rid of several (very!) stubborn ingrown hairs I've had for a while. I could tell she was focused on my concern and I'm looking forward to seeing the results after my skin rests for a little bit - I know she definitely got some if not most of those hairs out! Of course I knew that part wouldn't be the most pleasant but the rest of the service was super relaxing which was a really nice bonus. I would definitely recommend her :)

Mary is one of the most knowledgeable skincare professionals I've ever met. She has an energy and passion for what she does. I reached out to her for a consult when I needed to change up my skincare routine and she was able to recommend a new skincare regime that was affordable and within two days of using the new products my skin was clearer and i stopped breaking out.

I found my lash gal! I have had some not so great experiences with lash extensions so I had a lot of questions and clarifications when I went to see Melissa. She was patient, answered all my questions, talked to me at length about what look I was going for and developed a plan for how to achieve that look. It's hard to find someone that understands what you mean about a subtle natural look. I've been sent out of other places with too thick, too long and poorly applied lashes. But not here!!! Melissa got it! And I love the final look. She was conscientious, gentle, meticulous in her attention

Just had a hydrafacial with dermaplaning done by Melissa and I could not be happier! My skin tone is evening out for the first time in years and my skin feels wonderful. I'm 59 and have only been serious about skincare for the last few years. The hydrafacial is the perfect boost to what I'm already using. I can't wait for the next one, to be honest. Was my first time here, and I was a little nervous. The actual storefront is a house turned into spa, very cute and welcoming. I booked an eyebrow shape with Melissa, and she was nothing but polite, friendly and incredibly easy to talk to. She immediately eased any worries I had, and told me that we would start off slow with hair removal, so that she could show me the progress and let me make an modifications as necessary. When I lived in Tacoma I tried a few places for lashes before I found Mary and she was SO amazing, especially compared to some of the not so great experiences I had elsewhere. She was easy to talk to and work with and the quality of her work was fabulous. My lashes never felt uncomfortable and they always lasted until my next visit. And they looked amazing. When I moved away from the area, Mary was one of the people I missed the most! It can be hard to find someone who is trustworthy and also does an amazing job but I found that at MYNX Aesthetik. I definitely recommend checking them out!

I moved to Tacoma almost a year ago and found Mary via yelp. I was sooo nervous because I'm super particular about my eyebrows and had been getting them threaded not waxed for a few years prior to moving. Let me just say look no further...Mary is the THE BEST.
Not only is her work phenomenal but she is such a down to earth cool chick that you can chat with throughout your appointment with ease. I have been going to Mary for almost two years now- she has tinted my brows and lashes, waxed (all the things) like a boss, and has an absolutely delightful personality- you (almost) forget that hair is being torn from your most delicate areas. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for clean, professional, and friendly aestheticians.

First I should say that I received no services from this salon but I have attempted to call to schedule something three times now, all within business hours and they have never picked up. There isn't a voicemail either saying the number belongs to a salon, perhaps the wrong number is posted. However, I really wanted to make an appointment with them after seeing the great reviews.

Had a great experience at Mynx Aeshetik! Was interested in doing a lash lift after seeing some pictures of previous lifts and I'm so glad I went and saw Mary to do mine! She is extremely knowledgable, professional and personal.
Mary did a lift and tint on my lashes and it looks great! I've received tons of compliments already and I love how natural it looks. Definitely will be back!
